Vic lost his wife, Cassandra, in childbirth with twins, Casia and Isaac. He has always blamed the scientists for her loss, knowing it was their own genetic alterations which caused the complications. His greatest fear is that those same genetic alternations may have been passed on to Daria or Casia, and that he may lose them the same way.
After the celebration that was held when the six families moved into Rainbow Valley, Vic was concerned that the pressures of real life would cause everyone to drift apart. Wanting to avoid this, and generally interested in journalism, Vic started The Rainbow Valley Chronicle.
After his three children left for Uni, Vic found living alone, well, lonesome. His previous fling with Charlotte Rossi left him miserable, but also inspired him to look for someone with whom he could have a steady, serious relationship. That someone turned out to be Laura Royce.
After eight issues of The Rainbow Valley Chronicles, Vic decided it was time to retire. He looks forward to spending time travelling with Laura and anticipates Larvic needing to take the computer away from his to enforce his retirement from the newspaper which has been his baby.
