All Moved InWelcome to Rainbow Valley
There was much excitement in Rainbow Valley this week as our community celebrated its newfound freedom.

Our first night was a grand party indeed, and one we intend to become an annual event: "Rainbow Valley Day", to celebrate the end of our existance in the labs wherein our DNA was altered. We also conducted our first Coming of Age ceremony, which was a great success.

Heloise Walker and her teen son Newton were amongst the first to make their declaration. Child Stephanie and toddler Jasper were, of course, too young for this, but Stephanie expressed some excitement at the idea of having her own declaration when she becomes a teen. The Walkers, with their rainbow and yellow skin, eyes and hair, brightened up the evening no end, despite the unfortunate loss of husband and father Casper Walker in the labs.

The orange Erica Reid and her child, Travis were the life of the party. Erica's fun-loving ways went a long way to keeping everyone entertained and awake all through the evening, and it was no surprise to hear her Life Choice.

Rogue and Gambit D'Beau met in the labs because they both chose the same fandom to pick their fake names from. They're convinced that the scientist must have recognised this and that's why some of their DNA alterations match the appearences of their namesakes. It may even explain Gambit's red and black hair and skin, but it doesn't really explain the inspiration behind Rogue's spotted skin. They and their twin teens, Anna and Remy, joined the Coming of Age ceremony. Child Marie, and toddler Roguette watched on.

Rex and Queenie Davenport are also twin teens, and have custody of their younger siblings: child Ralph and twin toddlers Brendan and Sarah. The untimely deaths of their purple and pink parents,

Theodore and Lauren, on the night of our release was a shock to all of us. In addition to declaring their Life Choices, Rex also announced that Theodore and Lauren would live on in them, their children.

Firey Charlotte Rossi joined the neighbourhood with her children, the equally firey teen Katrina with her pointed ears, the aptly named child Kitty and the also suitably named toddler Rocky. Katrina had her nose in a book during almost the whole party.

Last of all, the blue Chancellors. Vic and his teen daughter, Daria made their Life Choices, but twin children Casia and Isaac (whose mother, Cassandra, died in childbirth), were too young, of course.

After our first "Rainbow Valley Day", however, the work began. Much needs to be done to establish ourselves: get jobs, build homes and the like. And this former "no mans land" will require a lot of time to restore it to its former beauty. But no matter how much work needs to be done, we the six founding families of Rainbow Valley, will rise to the occasion, and one day look back and value all that we have done.

Welcome to Rainbow Valley, and the first edition of The Rainbow Valley Chronicle.

The goal of this newspaper is to do just that: Chronicle the lives of the residents of Rainbow Valley. We shall aim to keep up to date with all the latest events in the neighbourhood, from births, deaths and marriages, to snow storms, epidemics and alien abductions. Not to mention the new 'Coming of Age' ceremony that we have designed. More on that on page 2.

The idea is to keep us, the residents of Rainbow Valley, in touch with each other no matter what hardships may come our way. We all have to learn to adjust to being out of the labs, and through this newspaper I hope that we will all be able to help and encourage each other.

But The Rainbow Valley Chronicle won't just cover our lives. If you wish to advertise for a job, new business opening, personals, anything, just contact our office.

We look forward to many years together,

Vic Chancellor
