FAQ

Just for fun, as contributed by us all...

Why is Zac such a manwhore?
Go read the very first post and read the first Alexa post. Note how she describes the girls Zac hangs out with. Note that Michelle is a smart alec and has a tendancy to run with things. Then blame Alexa.

Why are AiMsTeR and Tegz so cruel?
Because they're evil, sadistic individuals

Why do you generate so much mail?
1. We have no lives.
2. We have nothing better to do.
3. We have fertile imaginations (much like Zac's - err we won't go there).
4. Why not?
5. I'm sorry? Is this a lot of mail?

Why is Ness so obsessed with Zac?
This is Ness we're talking about, who knows?

What is the bad guys' next move?
I could tell ya, but I'd have to kill ya

Why is there only one guy in your group?
1. That's what we want to know.
2. We scare them away.
3. We eat them.

What is the spa thing?
1. Wouldn't you like to know?
2. We don't know.
3. Whatever it is, it's very erotic.
4. Some questions nobody can answer.
5. Not even Faith and Zac know.

Why haven't Hanson come to Australia yet?
Who knows, but it's most likely Taylor's fault... it usually is

Why are there so many sex scenes in October and onwards?
1. We'll let you know when we have an answer to this question.
2. We were either hornier or braver or both.
3. The catalyst could have been anything - or anyone.
4. The consensous is that it was Joy.

Hang on, isn't there a rule against graphic sex and torture scenes?
Yes, yes there is.

So?
Michelle is just too nice... she would rather let them get away with it and put up warnings than stifle everyones creativity. *cough*Pushover*cough*

I notice Michelle's done her share of sex scenes...
If you can't beat 'em, join 'em ;)
But by the same token, I'm kinda bored with them now. I mean, it's not like anything interesting is happening.

What are all the statuses about?
When a character is assigned a status, it indicates what is expected of that character.

Why is there a sudden lack of sex and torture scene warnings in 2004?
We all just got bored with them. (Thank goodness).

Why are you bringing in Daths and Sems with Shapeshifting as a second mutual?
Mainly because of the Adige - while Daths and Sems have inate adaptation ability (hence why they're able to look human), it would be nice if they could choose between being human form or adigian form, instead of having their body choose for them.

Well, why the restriction on introducing said mutual?
You can't seriously expect this kind of thing to happen all at once? Oh no, it's going to be a generation or two before everyone will have it. Assuming that this RPG is still going on that long (HR time).

What about the Watcher/Slayer and Mutant/Slayer restriction?
Dude, how boring would it be if all the slayers were watchers? Or mutants?

Yeah, but if mutants are taking over the human population...
I'm sure that Joy plans for the the slayer world to adapt accordingly.

Does anyone actually ask you these questions?
Umm, nope.

Then why call this page "Frequently Asked Questions"
Actually the page is called "FAQ"

Yeah, but everyone know that's what that stands for
Yeah, well, maybe it stands for something else here.

Oh yeah? Like what?
1. Fools! Ask Questions!
2. Facts And Questions
3. Funnily Answered Questions
4. Fun And Questions
5. Frequently Answered Questions

You have an answer for everything, don't you?
Yep

But onto other questions directly pertaining to RPing...
You're capable of that?

What's this 'post tracking' thing all about?
Many HR months have past, and a lot of our chars - especially those created in the beginning - have had a number of important things happen in their lives, such as marriage, birth of children, deaths, kidnappings, and other various 'crossroads of life' type things. Sometimes as writers we need to go back and reread old posts to refresh ourselves before writing new posts about that char so that we keep things consistant. Post tracking is a method by which we can keep track of those posts without having to reread summaries in an attempt to remember just what month something happened in.

So this is a 'just for the benefit of the writer thing'
Well, primarily, I guess. But it's not solely intended for your personal characters. Post tracking can be - and has been - initated for various shared and public chars as well. In fact, it's probably even more important for the public chars as anyone can play them, and if someone wants to play them long term, knowing what they've done and who they've met can be very important. Moreso, because these chars don't show up very often, and searching for posts that they've been in is even harder than personal chars, to the point where it may not even be worth it.

Wait... I don't have to track every since post my char has been in, do I?
No. Post tracking is completely optional. If you do decide to post track, you decide what posts you want to keep track of. If you only want to track posts for some of your chars, that's fine. There is no obligation to track every single post that your char has been in - that's silly, especially as some posts might primarily be about another character, and your char might only have a minor role. But you could if you really wanted to.

What if there's a post not involving your char directly, but involve other chars talking about your char and maybe even making plans that effect your char's life?
If you believe a post has a specific impact on your char, them by all means, track away.

Do I have to go through all the summaries to find old posts?
You don't have to. You can just start tracking from present time and not worry about them. If you find yourself having to locate an old post, you can always add it to the list later.

If I get this sudden urge to update some of the public profiles, and possibly put in some post tracking for them, can I?
By all means, help yourself. Public profiles are free game. Do whatever you want with them.

Why have you started designating profiles as being "Original" and "Unorginal"?
So that if you as a player suddenly disappear and stop playing with us, I know what to do with your chars (i.e. retire or public). Of course, you as a player might think "but I love, this, I'm never going to just disappear", and I sincerely hope that's true, but it's happened too many times already, and I hate looking up names I'm not sure of in Google, heh. Once bitten, twice shy, as they say.

What's the "Close Enough" thing about?
"Close Enough" applies to characters who are not original in themselves, but have a variable history depending on what source material you read. For example, characters from mythology generally come under this category: they usually have no established personality, just a basic history that gets different interpretations from different people.

How does X-men 3 effect HR?
It doesn't. Storyline wise, the movie and HR don't fit in with each other at all. Additionally, the mutant class system mentioned does not give any clear defintion of what comprisies what class. Thus, unlike the first two movie, X-men 3 will not be incorporated in any form.

You've been writing HR for 5 years, how does it feel?
Scary. Also, I wish we could catch up HR time to RL time. Save confusion about what date it is, hehe.
