Isaac watched the fireworks with a big, silly, and yet completely bored expression on his face. Well, well, another year had begun. He wondered what it had in store for them.
"Hey, Ike," Taylor said. "Made a New Years resloution?"
"Yep. You?"
"Nah, I never seem to keep them. What's yours?"
"I have no intension of divulging that particular piece of information."
"Aww. C'mon?"
"Why do you care?"
"No reason."
Isaac just his head in amusement. Nope, there was no way anyone was going to find out his resolution: To get over Myra. His girlfriend had died six months ago, everyone thought he was over it by now.
He sighed. He wished so much that Myra could be here right now.
Ashley
Ashey was at the party she felt all alone a the other couples kissed. She knew this year she wanted to meet the man she hoped would be hers forever
Isaac
Isaac wandered aimlessly around. There was gonna be some mess to clean up afterwards. And he knew who would get the job of it. This was the problem with being the only telekinetic in the family. You got stuck cleaning up all the big messes. Well, no, to be fair, others would help, but he'd get the worst of it, that was certain.
In the midst of his pessimistic thoughts, he noticed a girl sitting alone. He sat down beside her.
"Hey, welcome to 2003," he said. "The fireworks were pretty cool, huh?"
Jessica
Jessica stayed at the party for as long as she could stomach. Finally she gave up. While everyone else was captivated by the fireworks, she slipped off to her bedroom. Locking the door (6 siblings doesn't exactly give you much privacy) she pulled her journal out from under her pillow and grabbed a pen. She put her 3 Doors Down cd in the cd player and cranked it, then plopped down on her bed to write. Her brothers might write songs, but she was the poet in the family, and everyone knew it, though she never showed her work to anyone anymore. She was in a bad mood. Her best friend Rachel was in Philadelphia for the holidays with her mom and sisters, and wouldn't be back for another week. The fifteen-year old started to write:
Something's trying to kill me. Or is it trying to save me?
I'm like a tiny kitten, far too small to be away from Mama,
eyes barely open.
A kitten in a graveyard.
I run, as fast as my tiny paws allow, until I fal into an open grave.
It's dark in here, darker than before.
A casket is being lowered down.
I mew and mew, not knowing if they can hear me, but it stops.
The casket lies centimetres above me; stock still.
I don't know if it will ever move.
And if it does, up or down?
She reread the poem again, and then closed her journal with a sigh. Taking out another notebook, she started to write a letter to Rachel. Finishing her letter, she changed into her p.j.s, turned off the light, and laid in bed listening to the music. silently, she drifted off to sleep.
Ashley
"Yeah they were wish had somene to share it with though." Ashley looked him right in the eyes. She noted to herself he was very cute.
Isabel
Isabel Evans stared up at the fireworks and thought about home. How she longed to go home and leave her human life of lonliness behind. Pushing a stray strand of her short choppy brown hair out of her face, she sighed.
Rachel
Rachel Evans woke up slowly. The feeling you get when you're waking up somewhere that isn't your bed slowly sunk in. First she realized that she wasn't in a bed, but in a sleeping bag. Then she remembered that she was sleeping over at her friend Cassie's house. Stretching, she walked out into the living room, and spotted a hawk sitting on the back of the couch.
"Good morning, Tobias. How's it going?"
Isaac
"Mmm, I know the feeling..." Isaac replied, thinking of Myra.
"Aww man, I'm doing it again," he thought to himself. "You're trying to get
past Myra already. So get past her!"
Ashley
" A guy as cute as you would know the feeling you your lieing." Ashley
said as she closed her eyes embarrsed that she had just said he was
cute. "Listen I'm sorry I said you were cute I just met you I have no
right to say that." Ashley felt like even more of a fool. "God he
probably thinks I'm insane." Ashley thought to herself.
Alexa
I want to go home. This party sucks,the only reason I came was to
see Zac. He doesn't even notice me! He's completly wrapped up in
that sleazy girl over there. When will he get over these slutty
girls and find someone he can actually have a relationship with.
I've been his friend for over five years and I guess that's all i'll
ever be. I just wish that maybe he feels the same way i do.
Isaac
"I've been called worse things," Isaac laughed. "But if it make you feel better, you're pretty cute yourself. I'm Isaac, by the way, and you?"
Zac
"Zac?"
"Mmm?" was all he would say, far more interested in kissing Hannah's neck
than talking to her.
"I think we'd better stop."
"Why?"
"Daryl's glaring at you."
Zac stopped kissing Hannah and twisted his head to look up at her older
brother.
"Hey," he said.
Daryl just stared at Zac. Zac took the hint and removed his hand from under
Hannah's shirt.
"C'mon Hannah. We're going home."
"So soon?" Zac asked.
"I think she's had enough... fun... for one night."
Protesting, Hannah left with her brother. Zac was disapointed for all of
five seconds and then went around looking for his next victim - err someone
else to hang out with.
Ashley
"My name is Ashley and thanks for saying that I'm cute it makes me
feel alot better. But how do you know how I feel about not having
anybody. If you don't won't to tell me you don't have to I'll
understand." Ashley said as some of her hair fell in front of her face.
Isaac
Isaac was quiet for a moment.
"Lets just say I'm very familiar with the feeling of being alone, and leave it at that. Hmm, so, what brings
you to this party? I got here by car..." he chuckled at his lame joke.
Ashley
"Okay well leave it at that. Well I thought it would be fun to come to a
party maybe even met a guy that I could possibly date. But I'm
regretting that decsion no guy would ever date me my dad freaks them
out." Ashley said thinking of her crazy dad wh was probably looking up
info on UFO's.
Isaac
Isaac laughed.
"Your dad freaks them out huh? What does he do?"
AJ
Elsewhere in the world - in the early afternoon - AJ logged onto the
internet.
Maybe she could say 'Happy New Year' to someone who'd only just had it, as
opposed to over 12 hours ago... her party was over.
Alexa
Zac had finally disengaged himself from that sleazy girl and it
looked like her brother was not to happy with Zac. I guess I should
have been happy but I knew Zac would never have any feelings for me.
Well, if I couldn't be his girlfriend I guess I'll settle for being
his friend.
Alexa walked up to Zac and tapped him on the shoulder.
"Hey, what's going on? I'm glad I finally got a chance to talk to
you, you were ummm alittle busy before huh."
Zac
Zac turned and gave Alexa a grin.
"That kind of busy is very, very fun. And speaking of fun, are you having any?"
Ashley
"Oh he just talks about aliens and stuff and that scares guys away my
dad is a nut job he thinks aliens are real and live among us humans.Do
you think my dad is right? " Ashley questioned him.
Alexa
"Well I wasn't until now," Alexa replied.
She mentally smacked herself, she probably couldn't have sounded
more desperate if she tried.
"So what have you been up to lately,I feel as though I never get to
see you anymore."
Isaac
"Aliens living among us?" Isaac repeated. "Well, hmm, I think aliens are real, but on Earth? Who
knows? But I doubt your Dad would scare me off with that kind of talk. I love sci fi."
He paused as he realised what he had said. He doubted her dad could scare him off, and she was just
talking about guys not dating her. Well Ashley seemed nice enough.
"Say, since we're both rather, erm, lonesome, maybe you'd like to see a movie with me sometime? This
Saturday?"
Zac
Zac put his hand on his head.
"I'm up to here," he said cheekily. "But ahh... heh... just stuff. Nuffin
much really. Just the usual, writing and playing music, playing games,
watching movies, making out, surfing the net. It's all good. Yourself?"
Ashley
" This Saturday sounds okay to me I don't have to work at the diner that
day." Ashley said. She only just met Ike and she liked.
Isaac
"Great," Isaac replied. "Do you want me to pick you up? Or will we meet at the
cinema? What time?"
Miette
Miette was glad to be away from the party downstairs. She did not get along with
her older brother's friends and they were even worse when they were drunk.
After a fruitless attempt at trying to get to sleep (it was just way too noisy) she
decided to give up and go online.
AJ
AJ tapped her fingers on the mouse boredly, looking through the list of
names in chat, trying to pick one to start a conversation with. Then a new
one suddenly came online.
"Ok... you'll do," she said to herself, opening the private chat.

" You can pick me up. I guess around 7:18p.m." Ashley said smiling.
Isaac
"7:18? It can't be 7:20 or 7:15, it had to be 7:18?" Isaac teased.
Ashley
"Yeah it did." Ashley said laughing. She felt a gust of wind from behind
her and turned to look behind her she went pale at what she saw.
Isaac
Isaac turned and looked to see what Ashley was looking at. He had been on the verge of asking her for
her address so he could pick her up on Saturday.
Ashley
"Oh my god." Ashley said as she passed out.
Isaac
"Zoe," Isaac scolded. "You know better than to use your powers around humans. Now return to your
body at once."
It was definitely a problem Zoe having that astral projection power. He sighed as he turned his attention
back to Ashley. Poor girl. Probably had the shock of her life. He looked around for Avery and called her
over.
"Hey, Avie, Ashley saw Zoe doing her astral stuff again. Do you mind remeding the situation?"
Avery sighed.
"Okay."
"Oh," he added as an after thought. "Would you mind getting her address as well?"
Avery
"Get her address why do I want her address for or better yet why do
you I thought you still weren't over Myra." Avery said and saw the
painful expression go across Ike's face.
Isaac
"Well, I was making plans to take Ashley to the movie's this Saturday. And you know it's been six months
since Myra died, Avie. I'd appreciate it if you'd help me get over he by not reminding me," Isaac replied.
Avery
"Sorry Ike it was something that came out Avery said.As she worked to
erase Ashley's memory not knowing she was putting Myra's memory's inside
Ashley.
Alexa
Smiling Alexa walked out to the dance floor, thinking she was the luckiest girl in the entire world. She wrapped her arms around his neck and laid her head on his shoulder. She couldn't help but wonder if he felt anything. She felt so safe and comfortable laying in his arms.
"Hey,whatcha thinking?"Alexa questioned.
Zac
"Right, like I'm really going to tell her what I'm thinking," Zac thought to himself. "Not happening. She'd probably hit me, or worse."
"Oh, don't you know?" he replied with a grin, "I don't think. In fact, I've been told there's nothing in my head except for a sign that says 'space for rent'. You wanna sausage? I do. I'm hungry."
And on that Zac started leading Alexa off the dancing area and towards the tables of food.
