Rainbow Valley's Instant Lake:
Just add water
Alien Abductions
"Arr, no one was more shocked than I to wake up one mornin' with a waterfront on me doorstep," says Keesha Rossi, Rainbow Valley's resident pirate aficionado. "Not that I be complaining - makes for a great view, and I be likin' the beach - but still, one has to ask questions. Y'know like: where in SimNation did this lake come from?"

Oceanographer Elspeth Ternynck was able to provide the grim answer to this question:

"One of our sister neighbourhoods, Greenacre Village, was flooded. They were based in a flood plain, so the summer rains were bad enough, but when the dam broke it was all over. It really should never have been approved for construction in the first place."

Deputy Mayor Ralyn Patch is appealing to residents to lend their support.

"There are just so many former residents of Greenacre Village that now have no home to go to. Families have been devaststed by losses - some lines even wiped out completely. We're combining efforts with Snowy Heights and Panorama Hills to aid the survivers, but we really need all the help we can get to provide food and shelter."

There are no figures on the final death toll as yet, but estimates are looking at around 150-200 of Greenacre Village's 237 residents.

Donations of food, clothing, other basic neccesities and simoleons are welcomed and greatly appreciated, and should be given to one of the volunteers.

The alien abductions have not yet ceased. Rainbow Valley residents everywhere have been taking up astronomy, some in hope that they'll be abducted, and others attempting to prove that they would not. Interestingly a number of teens have been taking up astronomy, hoping to gain the scholarship for alien abduction.

Knut Ternynck, who was also one of the first abductees, believes he has found a way of summoning the aliens - and had proven its success with a second abduction and third abduction. What's more this abduction actually took place after the sun had risen, whereas all other abductions have taken place during the night, lending further credit to Knut's summoning technique.

Farmers Market
Roguette D'Beau recently opened up a Farmers Market.

"It's more about Xylina, Xylon and new baby Thorn than me," Roguette admits. "They love gardening, but unfortunately, this tends to result in us having way, way more fruits and veggies than we can eat. It seemed logical to start a market where we can sell their surplus mouthwatering produce."

"I was so excited when Mum suggested it," adds Xylina. "It made me so sad to see all though fruits and veggies go to waste. Kinda put a damper on the whole gardening experience."

Xylina and her son, Xylon both operate the gardening part of the Farmers Market, while Roguette mans the shelves and cash register.

"It's not just fresh fruit and veg, either," Roguette points out. "We also sell juicers. Because strawberry lemonade, pepper punch and apple juice are awesome."

The Farmers Market is open 7 days. Please call 053 010 for further inquiries.
