Jessica stood on the courtyard out the back of the Hanson house, watching the preparations for the wedding come together. A trellis stood in the corner of the yard, the flowers and ivy woven through. A light, gold, gauzy material was draped across.
The chairs were situated a little in front of the trellis, divided down the centre for the aisle, and they were currently rigging up fairy lights through the trees.
She had never seen the backyard look this magical.
A tear made it's way down her cheek as she watched the final touches be made, and she felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist. Without turning, she smiled and leant back into Joe's arms.
"It's happening."
"One last night apart, and then we'll be married," Joe murmured, kissing her on the cheek. "Mack got in about an hour ago."
"I heard," Jess nodded. "Are you ready for this?"
"Bring it on."
