London Calling

Written by Nessa

Avery

Avery sat out on the balcony of her hotel room, overlooking the city below. Her fingertips stained black from the pencils she'd been using to shade her sketches. She held the sketchpad steady in her lap, alternating her view from the building across the street, and back down to the paper. She sighed, noting the fading light, and she started to pack her stuff up.

She lay back on the bed, closing her eyes tiredly. She'd been up since the early hours of the morning sightseeing and catching up with JD and his family. Her feet ached, her hands ached from sketching, and her eyes were red and dry from concentrating so hard for the last few hours.

She opened one eye to glance at the clock, then reached over for the phone on her bedside table. She dialled down for some room service for dinner, and then hoped she could stay awake long enough for it to be delivered.
