All Planned Out

Written by AiMsTeR

Christian

Christian knew what he had to do. He just wasn't sure if he felt right doing it. He'd run it through his head a million times over the past week, and he really couldn't see another option. So he'd planned it out. Everything was set to the final mark, and now he just had to go through with it.

This was going to change things substantially. And definitely for the better.

As he made his way down the corridor at Lucious' base, he stopped at the door of a lower grade telepath who was a member of his circle. He knocked.

"Yeah?" the guy opened the door grumpily, before seeing who it was.

He blanched, then stood back from the door a little.

"What do you want?"

Christian had made a concentrated effort to not socialise with any of Lucious' men. In fact he'd barely said a word to anyone at all other than Lucious himself. So approaching a random board member was probably a bigger deal than he'd thought out ahead of time.

"Racer's calling an impromtu meeting. Something came up with the power share theory. A hole, a guess," Christian shrugged casually, "he needs everyone who was in on the initial meeting as well as the scientists working on the project to meet him in boardroom six in an hour's time. He asked if you'd spread the word."

He tapped his temple.

"Why didn't he do it himself? Why did he ask you to come here?" the guy was obviously sceptical.

"Let's just say I was in the wrong place at the wrong time when a formerly unknown side effect decided to make itself known," Christian shuddered, "disgusting. Anyway. I'll see you in an hour."

The guy nodded and closed his door as Christian walked away.

Just over an hour later, Christian stepped into a phone booth a mile or so away from the building. Checking the number that he'd written down, he dialled and waited patiently for it to ring.

It rang once, then dropped out. Moments after he felt the reverb from the shockwave he'd created, and simply hung up the phone.

Slipping his sunglasses back on, he stepped out of the phone booth and continued down the street as passers by cautiously ran in the opposite direction.
