Taylor awoke with a start when he saw someone standing over him.
"Happy birthday Dad!" Ezra yelled as soon as he saw that he was awake.
Taylor groaned and rubbed his eyes, before smiling and reaching out for a hug.
"Thanks buddy," he said, "where's Mom?"
"Making breakfast."
"Okay cool. Why don't you go get your sister up?"
"Everyone's up," Ezra shrugged.
"What time is it?" Taylor twisted so he could see a clock.
Ezra waited patiently.
"Sorry Ezra. Guess I slept in."
"It's okay," he sighed comically, "I'm used to it."
Taylor watched after him as he left the room, then laughed to himself.
He pulled himself out of bed and got dressed, before making his way out to the kitchen.
"Good morning my darling wife," he greeted, going to stand behind her and slip his arms around her waist.
"Good morning birthday boy," she turned slightly to give him a kiss, "Ezra decided it was pancake day."
"Good job Ezra," Taylor winked at his son, who giggled and disappeared from view.
"Thankyou," Taylor kissed her back.
"For what?"
"For being amazing."
