Avery groaned a little as the sun hit her eyes, and she pulled the blanket a little higher over her face. Pammy, sensing her owner's discomfort, padded along the bed, nuzzling at the little bit of Avery's face she could see. She purred, content, and Avery managed to open one eye to look at her.
"Morning, Pammy," she said, rubbing along the kitten's head.
Matt chuckled at the sight when he stepped back into his bedroom, both hands holding bags of greasy breakfast takeout.
"Lifesaver!" she announced, seeing him from the corner of her eye.
"I thought you might need this," Matt grinned. He came over to the bed and put the bags of food down, before picking Pammy up and setting her on the floor. She mewed in protest, and then ran off to explore.
Avery sat up and peered into the bag, before rubbing her eyes, and Matt pressed a kiss to her forehead.
"Did you have a good night?" he asked, pulling his own breakfast out of the bags.
"Mmhmm," she nodded, before swallowing the mouthful she had. "The best. Did you?"
"It was a lot better after you said yes," he grinned.
"Funny that," she teased. "Mine got a lot better after you asked."
"You know," he chuckled. "Should we talk about our living arrangement then?"
"You wanna move into Mom and Dad's with me?" Avery asked, pretending to be serious. "Well, that's weird but..."
"Har har," Matt stuck his tongue out. "You gonna move in here?"
"Well, naturally."
