Avery gave Lo and Lauren a final hug and kiss goodbye as the taxi beeped for her outside. She wheeled her bag out the front and The All Seeing loaded it into the boot for her, as she turned and waved at her friends before getting into the back of the cab.
"LAX please," she said, leaning back against the chair with a sigh.
The All Seeing nodded and started the car, knowing that the child locks were activated and she couldn't get out. He slowed down, pulling over on the side of the road, and a second later, the teleporter had appeared in the car next to her. He grabbed her arm and ported out with her, depositing her in the holding cell they had specially designed for this very moment.
The All Seeing appeared in the facility a few moments later, letting go of the teleporter once he had arrived. He approached the two-way mirror and watched Avery look around, confused. He pressed the intercom button on the wall.
"Greetings."
Avery looked around in confusion, eyes adjusting slowly to the low light of the room. "Who are you?"
"An old friend," he smiled wryly. "You may have noticed that there is no door in your room. The only way in and out is via a teleporter. So, I'm afraid, my dear... you are in quite the pickle."
"What do you want from me?" Avery could make out the other shapes in the room. A bed, a toilet, a sink. She sat down on the bed and brought her knees up against her chest, hugging them tightly.
"To see what your insides look like," The All Seeing replied pleasantly. "I must say, you did some damage on one of my favourite telepaths. She's recovering well, in case you were wondering."
"You..." Avery looked towards the mirror. "You took my memories away, and attacked me at my sisters wedding..."
"Not directly, but I have been the mastermind behind it all, yes." The All Seeing let out a chuckle. "What makes you so special, Miss Hanson? I found that once we took away your knowledge of your power, you went back to being quite ordinary."
Avery tried to focus her power to get into his mind, but found that he was shutting her out. Without the full capacity of her power, she was going to be almost useless in this situation, especially if he was stronger than her.
The All Seeing smiled, his cerebro helmet doing the job he had hoped it would do.
"Enjoy your stay, Miss Hanson. I know there are a few people here who are eager to meet you."
