Rallying the Troops

Written by Nessa and Michelle

Faith

Faith lay back against the cool wooden floor. She breathed heavily, feeling the familiar aches and pains of a good training session.

She lifted her phone up, going through it to find Friday's number, before calling and holding the phone to her ear.

Friday

Friday felt her phone vibrate in her pocket and slipped out of the nursery to take the call.

"Hello?"

Faith

"Hey," Faith said, sitting up slowly.

"It's Faith."

Friday

"Hi Faith," Friday said cheerfully. "Long time, no hear. What's up?"

She walked down the hallway and made her way to the kitchen.

Faith

"Unfortunately, quite a lot," Faith mused.

"How many girls are still Slayers? I know Giles had to shut the school down..."

Friday

"Oh gee, wow, I'm not sure what the exact figures are," Friday replied. "Too afraid to find out. There were, I don't know, about three hundred of us and now we're down to, fifty? Forty?"

Faith

Faith paused for a moment.

"That might be enough. Not ideal, but better than just... one. So... how contactable are they?"

Friday

"I'm in contact with most of them I think," Friday replied. "Most of them were in the higher grades or graduated like me. Anyone I don't know I'm sure that there's someone I do who does."

Faith

"Good, good," Faith nodded.

"I don't know how much you've heard lately, but things are about to hit the fan, so to speak. And I'm gonna need as many girls as we can get in contact with."

Friday

"I've heard things are in the wind, but... nothing specific," Friday replied. "Why? What's going on?"

Faith

"Rumblings that Lucifer is about to rise," Faith said, pausing for a second.

"And Giles is worried that the Hellmouths are about to start opening. We're looking at the apocalypse."

Friday

"Hmm..." Friday considered. "Yeah, I suppose we were due for averting another apocalypse."

Faith

"Speak for yourself," Faith replied.

"I've just finished with one. This'll make it my... twentieth? I just want sleep."

Friday

"Oh well, if you want to sit this one out, I'll understand," Friday replied.

Faith

"I wish," Faith sighed.

"There's not enough of us as it is. But I was wondering if you could gather the troops for me."

Friday

"This thing I can do," Friday said. "When and where?"

Faith

"I'm heading to LA tomorrow," Faith told her.

"From there, Angel and I are going to work out the best plan of attack... but if you could have everyone start arriving on the 2nd of October, that would work. I'll text you the address to meet at."

Friday

"Okay," said Friday. "Sounds like a plan. Anything else I can do?"

Faith

"Not really," Faith replied.

"Hope for the best but expect the worst. I'm going to need you to lead your own team."

Friday

"All right then," Friday said. "Well, as soon as you text me the address, I'll get started contacting everyone."

Faith

"Good good," Faith nodded.

"Alright, I'll text you now."

Friday

"Okay," Friday replied.

She hung up and as soon as the text came through, Friday got started contacting everyone.
