All About The Music

Written by Nessa

Avery

Avery smoothed the corner of her blanket before unlatching her guitar case. She carefully lifted the instrument and lay it across her lap for a moment, before strumming absently.

Her hands fell gracefully across the strongs, switching effortlessly from chord to chord, a small smile on her face as she sang.

"I never want you to look back on me and think I was a mistake / just remember our love and forget about the heartbreak / we were kids playing with love / because we didn't know... that it could hurt like this..."

Avery's head bopped in time with the music, and she sang in perfect time with her guitar playing. She had put off playing for so long, music had always been her brothers' talent, and she'd been too shy to ever sing outside of her room before, but now that she was getting older, she was becoming more confident in her abilities and didn't want to hide it so much anymore.

She kept singing, her voice soft and sweet floating through the gardens, and she mentally made a note to talk to Ike about guitar lessons.
