Joey opened up the door.
"Hey you two," she greeted. "Come on in. Glad you could join us."
"Thanks for inviting us," Rogue replied.
"Uncle Remy!" Marissa squealed.
Gambit chuckled and knelt down so the two-year old could give him a hug.
"Twick?" she asked hopefully.
"Hmm, yo' appear t' have somet'ing in your ear, petite," Gambit replied.
He put his hand to her ear and pulled away a small - but not too small - toy. Joey rolled her eyes. Marissa giggled.
"Now dat's a funny place t' keep your t'ings," he grinned at her as he gave her the toy.
"T'ank oo!"
"You spoil my child," Joey sighed.
"It's all part o' my diabolical evil scheme t' worm mon way int' the Bianchi family fortune," Gambit joked.
"Uh huh."
"Is that Gambit?" called Harry, poking his head in. "So it is. Hi Rogue."
"G'evening Harry," Rogue replied.
"Oh, look, Remy, I'm sorry to have to do this to you, but can you join me in my office for a minute?" Joey asked.
"Sure," Gambit shrugged.
"Dinner won't be long," Harry said, frowning slightly.
"Neither will we."
Gambit followed Joey off to the office while Rogue followed Harry into the kitchen/dining and took a seat. Marissa played happily with her new toy.
"Hmm," said Harry. "Maybe we should have sent Rissy with them as a chaperone."
Rogue chuckled.
"No, I'm serious."
Rogue gave him a weird look.
"What on earth would they need a chaperone for? It's just work."
"Rogue..."
"What Harry?"
He sighed.
"I think they're having an affair."
Rogue laughed.
"It's not funny."
"That's where you're wrong, Harry," Rogue smirked at him. "Firstly, Remy wouldn't cheat on me -"
"You sound very sure about that."
"Ah am. Secondly, if Joey was having an affair, with Remy or anyone else, it's no more than you deserve."
"Excuse me?"
"Oh come on. Ah know all about your visits ta strip joints and stuff. Maybe instead of lusting after other women you should try lusting after your own fiancee. Never know, she might appreciate the attention, rude boy."
"Fine. Don't believe me then."
"Just because you're a cheater doesn't mean Remy and Joey are," Rogue said, rolling her eyes at him. "Moron."
"Yeah, well, I hope you're right."
"Of course Ah'm right. Harry?"
"Yeah?"
"The pot's over flowing."
Harry swore as he turned his attention back to the cooking food.
