Jean sat back and considered the matter thoughtfully.
"It occurs to me Rogue, that you could probably harness this aspect of your power to further your advantage."
"How so?" Rogue inquired.
Rogue was of two minds (at least) on these sessions with Jean. The goal was two-fold, first to give Jean more experience in mind reading (although there were many around the mansion who believed she had quite enough experience with that already). The second was to help Rogue in sorting out her own thoughts from everyone elses.
"You could try concentrating on a particular personality - Ms Marvel, for example. You know, when you know that you're under telepathic assult, try and concentrate on her memories."
"And use them as a shield?"
"It will at least confuse the matter."
"Hmm. Of course, the trouble there is that I'm trying to seperate my psyche from everyone else's so..."
"Well, you'd still be doing that, wouldn't you?" Jean pointed out. "You're hiding your own personality behind someone elses."
"An interesting idea."
"Not today though," Jean grinned. "I think I've had enough of a workout."
Rogue grinned at her.
"Find anything interesting?"
"Well, Julie seems to be on your brain today - which is what made me think of the idea, actually - I kept coming across umm..."
"Please don't tell me she's given you ideas?" Rogue asked, noting the blush forming on Jean's face.
"Scott would be mortified if he knew."
Rogue laughed.
