The Blocks

Written by Michelle

Marian and Risa

Risa peered at her cousin Marian playing with the blocks. The toddler, just shy of her 2nd birthday, carefully stacked the blocks in a nonsensical pile. Risa poked out her tongue and a moment later the blocks came tumbling down.

Marian stuck out her bottom lip. Then, after a moment, started stacking the blocks again. Again Risa used her destructive powers to knock them down. Risa grabbed one of the blocks and Marian looked at her.

"Mine," Risa declared.

She put the block behind her, and grabbed another one. Abruptly Marian disappeared and Risa cried out, startled. Then Marian was back in her place again, with the first block Risa had taken in hand.

"Mine," Marian told her. "Help build?"

Risa smiled.

"Okay."
