Eron reached out and helped Friday back up. She shook her head.
"Enough for tonight?" Eron asked.
"Yeah... I guess..." Friday replied.
Eron put his arm around her.
"Hey," he said. "I'm sure everything'll work out."
"I used to be able to do that, no problem."
"I know," Eron nodded. "And if you're meant to do it again, I'm sure you will."
"Yeah, I guess," Friday sighed. "I wonder if this is what ordinary human slayers feel like."
Eron chuckled as they headed back home after their patrol.
"Maybe it is. Give you a new appreciation of what they can do?" he suggested.
"Well, it would certainly explain why I always used to beat them so easily when we sparred."
Eron laughed.
