Alpha breathed heavily, watching his Echo from outside the diner. She was sitting at a table at the window, along with two clients, he could only assume. She looked happy, at ease, but he knew that was just the imprint. Her true self didn't know what was happening, was a slave, a prisoner. She'd been abandoned by herself.
He clenched his fist, eyes never leaving her face, and his own expression softened as he watched her smile again.
"Don't worry, Echo," he whispered. "I'll save you."
