Dean looked across at his brother as he pulled his boots of and threw them under the bed.
"So where were you guys yesterday?" he raised an eyebrow.
"Huh?" Sam didn't look up from the laptop.
"Yesterday!" Dean raised his voice a little, "where were you? I get home at 11am and you're not here."
"Researching," Sam glanced at him, before getting back to his study.
Dean sighed.
"Bull."
"What?" Sam looked up.
"Bull. Don't think I haven't noticed these small adventures your family's been having lately. And considering how unlike 'father of the year' you are, I'm not buying that it's just family lunches or some crap."
"Dean-"
"I thought we were passed this 'keeping secrets' crap, Sam."
"School," Sam said decidedly.
Dean's eyebrows rose.
"Excuse me?"
"School," Sam sighed, "we've been looking at schools. For Priestly. Boarding, obviously, because we never stay in one place long enough and he needs the stability, but-"
"Woah woah, stability?" Dean screwed his face up, "the kid is 50% demon, 40% slayer and 10% human. The only stability he could possibly get is with us."
"So I'm 100% demon now?" Sam hit back, turning his chair angrily.
Dean hesitated.
"That's not what I meant," he amended, Sam rolling his eyes, "but you weren't attacking people from the womb, Sam."
"Maybe only because Azazel hadn't gotten to me yet. Did you think of that?"
"Don't do this," Dean shook his head.
"Do what?"
"Turn this into a fight! We're talking about the kid, not you."
"Has it occurred to you yet that maybe I just want to give him what I never had?" Sam shrugged.
"You think he deserves it?"
"You think he doesn't?" Sam returned.
"I think he's go better things to learn than what he can be taught in any public school," Dean reasoned.
"We've already taught him a lot, Dean. Almost half of what we know," Sam pointed out, "there's no rush to learn the rest. School isn't an institution. It's freedom."
"Yeah, because that worked so well for you," Dean smirked.
"Dean?"
"I'm not gonna argue any further. I've made my point," he raised his hands in surrender, "I just hope you know what you're doing."
