Zac sat in the nursery looking over Shepherd and singing nonesense lullabyes that he made up off the top of his head in an effort to lure him to sleep. He watched as his eyes closed and trailed off, only to see his newborn sons' eyes reopen again. Suppressing an impatient sigh, Zac started singing again. Would he never go to sleep?
Kate
Kate poked her head around the corner of the nursery.
"How is he?" she asked.
Zac
Zac eyed Shepherd suspiciously.
"I think... I think he might be finally falling asleep," he replied quietly.
Kate
Kate gave him a thumbs up.
"Ok."
Zac
Zac carefully and slowly got up and sneaked out the door. She closed the door very, very slowly until it finally clicked, listened and threw his hands up in their air in a silent cheer.
"All right," he whispered. "Victory is mine!"
Then he wrapped an arm around Kate's waist and kissed her.
Kate
Kate grinned and kissed him back for a second.
"Oh good, hopefully he stays down for the whole night. Also, your wife is hungry. I vote Thai food."
Zac
"Okay," Zac nodded. "This sounds suspiciously like a plan. Do you know what you want? Or do we have to hunt up a menu somewhere?"
Kate
"Yeah, I can go pick something up," Kate shrugged.
"Going a bit stir crazy, so some fresh air would be good."
Zac
"Ha, yeah I understand," Zac nodded.
He kissed her again.
"I guess I should probably clear off the dining table then."
