"You know that I'm fine, right?" Faith asked, as Priestly kept up the pace beside her. "You don't have to come with me for protection or whatever."
"I know," Priestly replied, jogging alongside her. "I sorta had another reason for coming this morning anyway."
"Who is she?" she grinned, slowing down a little.
Priestly blushed. "It's not a girl thing. Honestly."
"A guy thing?"
"Mo-om!" Priestly laughed. "Be serious!"
"I am," Faith told him, giving him a smile. "Just so you know, it's totally ok if you like the peen."
"Ok, one, that is gross, and two, I am straight," he protested, holding his hands up. "Good job with the sensitive parenting, Mom."
"I try," she nodded. "So, what's up then?"
They slowed from a jog into a reasonably paced walk, and Priestly took a few deep breaths.
"I um... I signed up with a talent agency."
Faith stopped walking, and stared at him. "A talent agency."
"Yeah," he nodded. "Um... I have an audition. For a movie. A Disney Channel movie, not like porn or anything. Not that there's anything wrong with porn, I'm sure it would pay well, and I would tell you if I was doing porn, but I'm not, so I just thought - "
"Whoa!" Faith held her hand up to stop him talking. "Ok, so when did this happen?"
"Well, this woman gave me her card on the weekend, and then I went on Monday to sign up... are you mad?" he winced slightly.
"What? No way, not at all, Zeph," she assured him, reaching over and squeezing his arm gently. "And they want you to audition for a movie already?"
"Yeah," he replied. "I um... well, I know that you and Dad have a... tricky relationship with the law, so I made up a name. Gunn helped me get all the papers organised, and it's all fine, no problems there but I do need to ask you a favour about this whole thing, so..."
Faith grinned slightly. "What name did you go with?"
"Zachary Efron. Zac Efron, really," Priestly shrugged.
"Cool," she nodded. "So... what did you need?"
"Well..." he chewed his lip nervously. "It's a musical. I kinda need someone to practice the songs and lines with. And... well..."
"Ah," Faith said, getting it. "Sure."
"But... I don't want Dad or Dean to know, yet. I just don't know if I can handle the teasing."
She laughed. "Yeah, sure thing. We'll keep it on the downlow until we know for sure."
"Thanks Mama, you're the best!" Priestly's face broke out into a huge smile and he hugged Faith, lifting her off her feet for a second.
Faith laughed and ruffled his hair once he had set her down on the ground again. "Why Zac Efron?"
Priestly shrugged. "It fit the nickname."
"Nickname?"
"Zeph. I'll be Zefron."
"Kiddo, you're too weird sometimes."
