Because Exploding Things is Fun

Gambit

Gambit eyed the fence thoughtfully, then pulled out his telescopic metal staff. He pressed the indented button in the middle, and the staff extended. He stapped back a couple of paces, then ran forward. He dug his staff down at the right point, pushed off into the air and jumped over the fence, twisting mid air and landing almost soundlessly on the other side. He slipped into the darkness, apprasied the wall while contracting his staff and began climbing up to the window.

Gambit inspected the window carefully, then traced his finger along the seal, charging it as he went. There was a soft bang as the light charge exploded and he pushed the window aside, noting with satisfaction the lack of damage. A moment later, Gambit was inside. He replaced the window 'sealing it' with a particular glue that would hold it in place long enough to decieve anyone at a glance about his point of entry.

Right so, the first step was to take out security. Gambit looked for the air conditioning vent and noted with mild relief that it was large enough for his frame. He pulled off the vent and climbed inside. His mind ran through the memorised path from the plans and he made the turns he needed to get to the security office. Now, as long as these air condidioning vents were able to actually hold his weight, this wouldn't be a problem.

Much crawling later, Gambit finally arrived at the security office. He took a few minutes to assess the room. Two guards were in there now, but by the sound of things they had at least three out doing patrols inside the building. The vent was too small in here for him to push it out and surprise them, so another tactic was required.

His staff came out again, along with a small bag of darts. Normally he would prefer cards but if anyone found a half burned card later on they'd kinda figure out that he was responsible, which would mess up Joey's plans. So darts it would have to be.

Gambit studied the guards sitting at their chairs. He placed a dart into the contracted staff, aimed and blew. While the first dart was still sailing across the room, Gambit lined up the second one, and shot that also. What his years of practice couldn't do, his slight telekinesis corrected and both darts met their targets within moments of each other. Gambit paused a moment to be sure that the sedative had done its job, then shot out a kinetically charged dart towards the computers to short them out.

Nodding with satisfaction, Gambit continued crawling down the air vents until he could get to one large enough for him to exit. His re-entry was a little dusty, and he had to stifle a sneeze. Why was it no one ever cleaned out the air vents anyway? Seriously.

Although the cameras were disabled, Gambti was well aware that he still had three guards to look out for. No doubt armed, and being hired by Donny wouldn't hesitate to shoot. He had to be careful they when they encountered each other that he saw them first, and not the other way around. Fortunately for Gambit, they weren't as conscientious about beign stealthy as he was, and as Gambit approached the target area, easily disabled the guard he encountered there with a swift and silent thwock to the back of his head with his now extended staff.

Gambit picked the lock instead of charging the locking mechanisim. While he was glad he stayed in practice, he remained chargained at just how much longer it took. He slipped inside, took a quick survey, then started charging things, starting with the critical point furtherest away from the door. Systematically, Gambit swept through the room, and made it back out the door just as the first explosion went off.

A cry down the hall alerted him, and Gambit turned and started going down the other way. Another explosion went off and he almost missed the sound of the second guard running down the hall. Gambit stepped to the nearest door, tried the handle and noted with relief that it was unlocked. He stepped inside just before the guard came around the corner, and watched critically as he ran past without noticing him. As explosion number three sounded, Gambit ventured back out the door, and hurried down the hall to the exit.

Of course, outside there were another couple of guards he had to keep an eye out for, and he had to knock one out before he could escape the building. Once he was out of the way, Gambit simply jumped over the fence again with the aid of his always useful staff, and slipped back into the darkness.

Out of range of the guards - at least for now - Gambit made his way to his motorcycle. He checked the road, then uncovered his motorcyle. He waited until the car he'd spotted went past, gave it a few more seconds, then headed out onto the road himself and left for home.
