A Lead

Faith and Priestly

Faith slipped back into the motel room, holding three bags of food and a tray of freshly brewed hot coffee. She set it all down on the counter, her bags already packed and waiting.

"Mom?" Priestly sat up, rubbing his eyes. "What's up?"

"Breakfast," she smiled, but the worry was evident in her eyes.

Priestly climbed out from under his blankets and reached for one of the coffees.

"You look upset," he commented, sipping from the cup.

"I'm fine," she told him.

Priestly shook his head. "Are you leaving?"

Faith looked at him in confusion. "What?"

"Your bags are packed," he said, pointing.

"You notice a lot," she replied, then shook her head. "We're all leaving. Hopefully."

Dean & Sam

Dean groaned, rolling over in bed and easing one eye open.

"Breakfast, great," Sam said as he came out of the bathroom and made his way to the table.

"Too early," Dean grumbled, rolling over again.

Priestly and Faith

Priestly chuckled at Dean, then returned his attention to the food. "So, are you ok, Mom?"

Faith nodded. "I will be. Now eat something."

Sam

"In a hurry or something?" Sam's eyebrows rose as he grabbed a couple of muffins and bit in.

Faith and Priestly

"Kinda," Faith admitted, glancing at Sam.

"I had another call from Davis late last night. He thinks... he thinks he might have some information on what happened to Tru."

Priestly paused in his eating, and he looked up at Faith.

Sam

Sam hesitated.

"Then what are we waiting for?" he asked.

Faith

"The driver," Faith said, indicating Dean.

"It's ok, I don't know how much Davis can really tell us anyway, but I'd still like to check it out."

Sam & Dean

"Anything helps," Sam insisted, walking over to Dean's bed and hitting his legs.

"Come on, get up. Coffee beckons!"

Dean moaned.

"Come on Dean. Food. I'm not making it up."

"Shut up," Dean moaned, squinting up at him, "I know there's food. Sleep trumps food."

"Maybe you shouldn't have stayed out so late," Sam scorned.

"It was worth it," Dean sighed, finally sitting up.

"Where are we headed?"

Faith and Priestly

"California," Faith told him, lifting the coffee cup to her lips. "Lead on Tru."

Priestly glanced at Faith again.

Dean & Sam

Dean nodded, then threw his covers off and got up to grab some pants.

"Ok then. Sam'll drive."

Sam looked up in surprise, then grinned as Dean threw him the keys and started packing his stuff.

Faith and Priestly

"Thanks, Kansas," Faith said.

"You have a lot of nicknames for people," Priestly commented absently.

"Hiding the fact I forget real names, Zeph," she winked.

"Zeph?"

Faith nodded. "Exactly."

Dean & Sam

"Or maybe you just want to forget his," Dean teased lightheartedly, "I mean come on, Priestly?"

Sam had started taking their stuff out to the car.

Priestly and Faith

"Hey!" Priestly protested, mock offended. "Priestly is a great name. Kind of rock star like."

Faith shook her head. "No way. I'm not calling you that. From now on, you'll be Zephyr."

"Why?"

Dean

"Eh. Zephyr rhymes too easily with 'leper'," Dean pointed out, putting his boots on.

Faith and Priestly

"Hence Zeph," Faith nodded.

"But... why? It's not even relevant, right?" Priestly asked.

"I have my reasons."

Dean

"And they are?" Dean pursed his lips, amused.

Faith and Priestly

"Kansas City Zephyr," Faith shrugged. "Or then again, Sam and I did it in Zephyr, Texas."

Priestly wrinkled his nose up.

"MOM!"

"Hey, how did you think you were conceived, kiddo?"

"Immaculate conception."

Faith snorted. "Sure. I'm the virgin Mary."

Dean

"I believe you at least pretended to be Mary at one point," Dean grinned.

Faith and Priestly

"Once, and just for you, Kansas."

Faith winked at him.

"Wait a minute," Priestly said, looking between them. "There could've been a chance of Dean being my Dad?!"

Dean

"I think that's a pretty pathetic chance considering your... 'abilities'," Dean almost snorted.

"And we haven't done it since... since I went to Hell, which was well over two years ago."

Priestly and Faith

"Gross," Priestly said, shaking his head.

Faith laughed and ruffled his hair.

Sam & Dean

Sam returned to the room as Dean stood from the bed.

"Alright. We're good to go," he announced.

"I'll take that," Dean grabbed the bag of food from the table, along with his designated coffee, and left the room.

Faith and Priestly

"Alright."

Faith and Priestly followed Dean from the room.
