"How can I help you, Davis?" Faith asked, cradling the phone against her shoulder and ear as she laced her boots up.
"Well, uh, I'm not entirely sure," Davis replied. He wasn't completely sure why Tru's mother made him so nervous... possibly because of Tru's abilities. After all, they had to come from somewhere. And if Faith was as strong as Tru had said, he didn't really want to get on her bad side.
"But I think... did Tru ever mention a Jack Harper?"
Faith thought for a second. "No, I don't think so. Oh wait, he works with you, doesn't he?"
"Worked," Davis corrected. "Uh... I let him go a few weeks back."
When he didn't add anymore information to that statement, Faith sighed softly.
"And...?"
"You knew about Tru's... abilities?" Davis paused. "The uh... days rewinding?"
"Yeah," she replied. "I didn't know that much about them if you needed to ask me some - "
"Oh no," Davis interrupted. "It's just... Jack had the same ability. Or rather, while no one else would remember the rewound day, Jack did. His ability was directly connected to Tru's, it seemed. But while Tru tried to save the person asking for help... Jack's agenda seemed to be to stop her from saving them. He believed the dead should stay dead."
Faith nodded slowly. "Ok..."
"Well, I fired him when I found out he was sabotaging Tru," Davis continued. "But... Tru mentioned he'd been poking around, even after he lost his job. She followed him a few times. He was meeting with someone. He has a boss. Someone who I believe... may have something to do with Tru's death."
There was a long pause on the line.
"Davis?"
"Yes?"
"I'm heading out your way. We need to talk."
