Isaac held his arms out to Everett while Nikki stood by hopefully with the video camera.
"Okay Everett, come to Daddy," Isaac said encouragingly.
Everett stood awkwardly on his two legs.
"C'mon Everett."
Everett looked at Isaac and Nikki gave a little shriek as her son abruptly vanished from sight. Her exclaimation was cut off when she heard Isaac's gasp of air and moved her eyes to see Everett in his arms.
"Uhh well," Isaac said, stammering a little. "That was a very good display of teleportation, Everett, and sure explains a few things, but it's not walking."
Everett gave his father an incomprehending look.
"C'mon, Everett, let's try this again."
Isaac left his son standing awkwardly where he was, moved back a few paces and held out his arms again.
"Okay Everett, this time walk to Daddy."
So what did he do? Promptly teleport to Isaac again. Isaac stifled a sigh and Nikki turned off the camera.
"This is going to be a problem, huh?" Nikki said.
Isaac shrugged.
"As every teleporter I have ever met is capable of walking, this is probably only a short term thing," he replied. "Still, I might ask around. See if anyone has some advice."
Nikki nodded.
"Okay," she said. "Well, at least now we know what his power is."
"Yep," Isaac replied as he stood up, Everett still in his arms. "And we also caught his first teleport - well the first one we know about anyway - on tape."
Nikki chuckled.
