Faith turned, hearing the slight change in the air's movement.
"That's impressive," Priestly grinned, folding his arms across his chest.
"Yeah," Faith shrugged. "The Slayer abilities are pretty awesome when you know how to use them."
"Don't you just... hit stuff?" Priestly raised his eyebrows, inwardly cursing himself for getting sucked into a conversation with her.
Faith grinned. "Yeah. But there's more to it than that. For instance..."
In a flash, she was behind him, a knife pressing against his throat.
"There's that little trick."
Priesty swallowed, careful not to move. "Neat trick."
He clenched his fist, holding her in place with telekinesis.
"Neater trick."
He disentangled himself from her, and backed away, facing her with a smirk across his handsome face.
"So," he chuckled. "How does it feel?"
"Little weak, actually," Faith commented. "You have to hold me in place and you still won't beat me. And if I were you, I wouldn't feel proud of that. It's sad. Really."
Priestly's eyes flashed angrily. "Yeah, well, how does it feel to have your own son hate you so much he'd kill you?!"
The statement hung in the air for a few moments, and as Priestly let go of his hold on his mother, Faith fell to her knees, choking on her tears, body convulsing almost painfully in sobs. She struggled to breathe, and her hands crossed over her arms, almost as if she were physically trying to hold herself together.
Priestly's expression changed, but only slightly.
Sam & Dean
"It's up," Dean pointed to the computer screen.
"I know where she is," Sam nodded.
"Go," Dean indicated the door.
Sam armed his gun and disappeared through the motel door.
Priestly and Faith
"I don't..." Priestly hesitated before kneeling down to her level, unsure if this was a ploy to catch him off guard.
Faith ignored him, crying heavily, grief coming off her in waves. She panted for breath, trying to get enough oxygen into her lungs, but unable to.
"Fa... I don't know how to help you!" he exclaimed, surprising even himself.
Sam
Sam rounded the corner and saw the two on the ground. Putting a hand to his holster just in case, he carefully stepped closer.
"Faith?!" he called, aware he'd be getting Priestly's attention at the same time.
Priestly and Faith
"I don't... I don't know what happened!" Priestly exclaimed, backing up again.
"She just..."
"Tru," Faith managed to say through her tears.
Sam
Still aware that Priestly was a threat, Sam jogged over to Faith and bent down to her.
"Faith?" he tried to get her attention, touching her shoulder.
He looked up at Priestly.
"What did you do?!" he demanded.
Priestly
"I don't know!" Priestly protested.
He shook his head, trying to think.
"I told her... something about her own son hating her. I don't know and then she was like this."
Sam
"Hey, hey," Sam knelt down and pulled Faith into his arms.
"Faith, you know she didn't hate you. Neither of them did."
Faith and Priestly
Faith held onto Sam tightly, still crying and unable to form a coherent sentence.
"But... they're... I can't..."
Priestly's eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"Who? What's going on?"
Sam
"You had sisters," Sam informed him impatiently.
"Faith had two daughters. They're both dead. The second one just last month."
He ran his hand through Faith's hair comfortingly.
Priestly and Faith
"I had..." Priestly stopped, completely speechless.
He watched Faith for a long moment, his thoughts battling with each other and everything inside of him confused and angry.
"Mom?"
Faith was still, her sobs lessening.
Sam
Sam looked up at him in surprise, wondering if it was just a ploy to keep them distracted.
His hold on her didn't lessen.
Priestly and Faith
"Mom!" Priestly knelt at Faith's side and put his arm around her, over Sam's arms.
"Mom... I'm... Mom, please stop crying."
Faith sniffed, tears streaming down her cheeks.
Sam
Sam immediately disentangled himself, standing back to let him hug her.
He stared at them with a confused expression.
Priestly and Faith
"Mom," Priestly wrapped both arms around Faith and hugged her tightly.
"I'm sorry. I don't hate you. I'm sorry. I'm sorry about my sisters. I'm sorry about everything."
Faith looked up at Sam, through her tears.
Sam
Sam looked around, feeling like he was about to be punk'd, only with bullets involved.
He pulled out his cell phone and dialled Dean's number.
Faith and Priestly
Faith wiped her eyes and Priestly helped her to her feet.
"Mom?" Priestly said quietly. "I want to go with you. Nothing suspicious, I promise."
Sam
"Dean? You'd better get out here," Sam said before hanging up.
"Think again," he stepped forward, putting a hand on Faith's shoulder, "you're gonna leave us alone."
Priestly
"I wasn't talking to you," Priestly said to Sam.
"I want to go with my mother."
Sam
"Well you're not," Sam assured.
"We don't even know you. And how on Earth could we trust you?"
Priestly
"Because she's my mother," Priestly said coolly.
"I'm all she has left."
Sam & Dean
Sam's eyebrows rose.
"Excuse me?"
"HEY!" came a shout from Dean as he jogged over to the group, "what's going on?"
"Apparently this guy has decided he's coming with us," Sam told him.
"Bulls---," Dean said flat out.
Priestly and Faith
"Not with you," Priestly said to both Winchester brothers. "I'm going with Mom."
Faith glanced at Priestly for the first time, since he'd started calling her that.
"Listen," she said quietly. "Let's go somewhere and work this all out."
Dean & Sam
"Guess what kid," Dean said sternly, taking Faith by the arm.
"We go where she goes. In fact, the car belongs to me. So you two," he indicated Priestly and Sam, "sort your s--- out, or leave. Until then, Faith's mine. And we're gonna eat tacos and have hot sex and... throw ice chips at pedestrians."
"Dean," Sam frowned.
"Not listening," Dean put his hand up before pulling Faith back in the direction of the mote.
Faith and Priestly
"Hot sex?" Faith asked, sniffing slightly. "Ooh, you get pay per view?"
Priestly looked at Sam, his expression still cold.
"I want to go with her," he said.
Sam
"You need to prove to us that we can trust you," Sam hit back.
"Or you're not going anywhere."
Priestly
"I won't hurt her," Priestly insisted.
"I can't hurt her."
Sam
"Not just her," Sam said seriously, his neck craning a little from looking down at him.
Priestly
"Fine," Priestly huffed, sounding remarkably like Sam when he did so.
"But I only want to talk to her. I don't want to talk to you."
Sam
"I don't care who you talk to," Sam began don the road, following Dean and Faith, "but you'll be supervised at all times, even with her."
Priestly and Faith
"Possessive dick," Priestly muttered, walking behind Sam and staring daggers at his back.
Faith glanced at Dean.
"So, tacos, really?"
Dean
"Heck yes if I can find some," Dean breathed as he unlocked the motel door.
"What do you think of the situation?" he indicated over his shoulder.
Faith and Priestly
Faith shrugged.
"I think he might be sincere," she said, following Dean into the room as soon as the door was unlocked.
"Something in his eyes."
Priestly kicked a rock along the road, trying to stop himself from kicking it at Sam's head.
Dean & Sam
"Still, we need to be careful," Dean warned, taking his jacket off.
"Take it with a grain of salt. He's had years of needing to kill us drilled into him, that's not all going to change in one night."
He looked up as Sam appeared and held the door open for his son to walk through.
"Hey kid," Dean nodded to him, "what's your name?"
Priestly and Faith
"Priestly," Priestly said, nodding at Dean.
"Seriously?" Faith cut in. "He named you Priestly? What kind of name is Priestly?"
"What kind of name is Faith?" he countered, his tone gentle.
"An awesome one," she replied, waving her hand at him. "It's better than Priestly."
"What would you have named me then?"
"Something better than Priestly."
"Not possible. Nothing's better."
"Everything's beter."
Dean & Sam
"Priestly is a dog's name," Dean interjected, sitting on his bed, "bulldog, probably."
Sam ignoredthem and went into the bathroom.
Faith and Priestly
Faith grinned at Dean, and then went over to the cupboard to get some blankets and pillows out.
"Who are they for?" Priestly asked.
"You," Faith replied. "Sorry kid, but you're taking the floor."
He shrugged. "I've had worse. Thanks."
Dean
Dean glanced at his watch.
"Well this particular outing ended a little prematurely," he said.
He looked at Faith.
"You planning on staying in?"
Faith and Priestly
Faith shrugged.
"Think I might head out and patrol. Quick sweep through the back streets."
"Patrol?" Priestly asked.
"Vamp hunting. Sacred duty and all that," she replied.
"Can I come?"
Dean
"No," Dean said sternly.
"But I guess that means I'm staying in. Damn."
Faith and Priestly
"I'll be really quick," Faith told Dean. "An hour, tops, unless things go awry. That way, you can head out after? And if I can't get in time, I'll bring you a present."
Priestly watched the interaction between his mother and uncle in almost jealousy at the level of closeness they seemed to have.
Dean
"Sounds fair," Dean shrugged.
"Failing that you could-" he stopped himself and glanced at Priestly.
"Nevermind. Just make it an hour."
He saluted.
Faith and Priestly
"I'll just let Jumbo know."
Faith knocked on the bathroom door, and hearing no opposition or toilet type noises, she let herself in.
Priestly stood awkwardly in the middle of the room, wondering what you say to a person you almost killed - who turned out to be your uncle.
Dean & Sam
Dean looked up at him.
"How old are you?" he asked.
Sam looked up from where he leant against the basin, his face red and wet from water he'd splashed on it earlier.
"What's up?" he asked calmly.
Priestly and Faith
"Nineteen," Priestly said, opting to keep his sentences short.
Faith shrugged, and leaned back against the door.
"Just checking in. I know that we've had some unexpected turn of events here."
Dean & Sam
Dean nodded.
"Wow. That must have been a boring couple of decades."
"To put it lightly," Sam smirked, looking down at the basin again.
Priestly and Faith
"Ah," Priestly hesitated, not wanting to engage in conversation with Dean. Not yet, anyway. It didn't feel right. "It was ok."
Faith reached over and touched Sam's forearm, running her fingers over the vein that stuck out.
"I'm going to do a quick patrol. Pick you up some food."
Dean & Sam
"I bet," Dean smirked sarcastically, "I bet you learnt all kinds of neat tricks. Like how to slit throats."
Sam nodded.
"Ok," he said softly, looking down at her hand.
"What about Dean?"
Priestly and Faith
Priestly shrugged, and sat down on the edge of the bed.
"He's going to watch the kid," Faith told him, running her fingers up and down his arm softly.
"I won't be long. An hour at most."
Sam
"Take care," Sam insisted, leaning over to kiss her cheek.
Faith
"Lifetime of practice," Faith smiled.
She reached out for a hug.
"Then spoons tonight, Sam. Am in need of some Sam hugs."
Sam
Sam couldn't help but smile.
He stood up from the basin and pulled her in for the hug.
"I promise. Lots of spooning. You migh have to wake me up when you get back though."
Faith
Faith wrapped her arms around his waist.
"Will do. Need food?"
Sam
"Whatever you find is cool," Sam assured.
He held her a moment longer then pulled away.
"Kill som for me, ok?"
Faith
"Always do."
Faith winked at him and then left the bathroom.
