The Truth Is In Here

Written by AiMsTeR

Priestly, Ty & Sam

"Are you my real father?" Priestly demanded.

"Why would you ask such a thing?" Ty turned to him, wiping his hands.

"I can tell by your hatred that you'd never stoop as low as to sleep with Faith," Priestly reasoned, "so who's my real father?"

Ty sighed, knowing this day would come.

"Do I know him?" Priestly frowned at the hesitation, "or don't you know who he is? Is he someone she just met in a bar one night?"

"Probably," Ty shrugged, "but more than likely they met on a hunt."

Priestly looked confused.

"A hunt?" he repeated, remembering what Sam had said the day before.

"And yes, you do know him."

Priestly's eyes searched Ty's, wishing he had some kind of telepathic ability. But apparently, he didn't need them.

"Sam?"

Ty looked away.

"You're kidding me, right?" Priestly stepped forward.

"You have work to do," Ty insisted.

Priestly shook his head, bewildered, but left the room. He headed down the hall to the locked room that held Sam and made his way in.

Sam's head turned as the door creaked, even though he couldn't see. Priestly closed the door behind him and made his way over.

"I need to know," he insisted, leaning over Sam.

"Need to know what?" Sam gulped a little.

"I just found out that my father isn't really my father."

"I tried to tell you-"

"But you know who he is," Priestly insisted.

"...I do," Sam said nervously.

"Then tell me!" Priestly ripped the blindfold from his eyes again, not caring for the repercussions.

Sam stared up at him, internally debating telling the truth or a lie.

"Tell me!"

"I think the real question is, do you really want to know?" Sam asked.

Priestly put the dagger to his throat again.

"Yes," he assured.

Sam closed his eyes for a moment, unsure of whether his throat would be cut at his answer.

"Is it you?" Priestly demanded.

Sam opened his eyes and looked straight into his.

"Yes."

"And you knew all along?"

"No."

"When did you find out?" he frowned.

"When you attacked Dean, he and Faith put two and two together."

"The story you told. About me getting taken as a child. That was true? I was taken from you?"

"Yes."

"By Ty?"

"Yes."

"How?"

"It's complicated," Sam gulped again.

"Uncomplicate it!"

"We don't remember!" Sam defended as the dagger's pressure increased, "I don't remember. He erased our memories. I don't even remember Faith being pregnant."

Priestly frowned, not releasing his hold.

"Then how do you know for sure?" his eyes searched Sam's.

"Because I trust Faith and Dean. And they got their memories back," Sam told him, "I don't need mine to know the truth."

"But how could you trust people like them?"

Sam hesitated, knowing he wouldn't listen to reason.

"Because I love your mother," he said sincerely, "and Dean. He's my brother."

Priestly frowned, quite blatantly the idea being a foreign concept. He stood back a little, leaving the tip of the blade at Sam's skin.

"How do I know this isn't just some kind of trick?" he asked.

"You asked me, not the other way around," Sam pointed out.

"That doesn't matter."

"You really think I'd lie to you when I'm telling you something you really don't want to hear, and could kill me for?"

"I don't know!" Priestly exclaimed, putting his hands to his head in confusion.

Sam gulped a little, wondering if he could use the pause to his advantage. But remembering how it ended last time he decided to lay low.

"I think you need time to think it over," Sam suggested calmly.

"Don't tell me what I need!"

Sam closed his mouth and took a deep breath, turning his eyes to the ceiling.

Priestly turned to face the wall, trying to calm himself down. After a few moments of silence, he headed for the door and disappeared.

Sam watched him leave, and his adrenaline finally kicked in.

He concentrated, knowing he didn't really have much time before Ty was bound to burst through the doors and amend Priestly's mistake. Leaving the blindfold off.

Having had minute practise, he quickly got the three right buckles undone and used his right hand to undo the left ones. Following that the straps around his chest, hips, thighs and calves.

He slid from the table, trying not to make a sound as his boots hit the floor. He looked around for some kind of weapon but came up empty, so he headed straight to the door. Carefully, he tried to open it, but soon remembered the loud clunk that had followed Priestly's exit telling him it had been bolted shut.

Stopping to think, he quickly took his place beside the door. He ran through a few scenarios in his head - not many of them coming out in his favour - trying to decide how to tackle each of them in different ways depending who came through the door first. With everything he had he hoped it would be Ty.

He didn't have long to wait. He soon heard footsteps on the other side of the door, and the large bolt lifted. As soon as the door opened and Sam saw that it was in fact Ty, he grabbed him by the shirt with his left hand and landed a well-aimed blow to his jaw that cleanly knocked him out.

Sam looked up to make sure that Priestly hadn't been behind him before dragging Ty back into the room. He ducked out and closed the door behind him carefully, reaching out to touch the wall to guide himself through the hall in the dark. The only light was coming through the cracks at the edges of the door to the room he'd been in.

He made it to a dimly lit room and snuck a look inside. He could see Priestly through a glass door that led to a balcony, where he was looking out at the view. Internally cursing that he'd have to find stairs somewhere, he distracted himself as he spotted his wallet and cell phone on a table in the room.

Not wanting to use up all his energy through using his powers, but also knowing he wouldn't have long before Ty raised the alarm, he telekinetically reached out for them. They came to his hand without a sound, and Sam breathed a short sigh of relief before continuing down the hall.

He finally found a staircase and headed downward, trying not to make his footsteps too heavy. When he reached the bottom he opened a side door and made his way out into a dark alley. He stopped to look around, soon spotting a car across the nearby open street. He jogged over to it, looked around somewhat nervously, then jacked the driver's door open. Before he got in he happened to glance back at the building he'd come from, and he froze in fear.

There was Priestly on the balcony, looking straight down at him.

Sam gulped, staying still, as if hoping Priestly wouldn't see him if he did. But after a long stare at each other, Sam took that as a sign that he wouldn't stop him, and got into the car. A few sparks later and the ignition started up, before he quickly took off down the street.

Priestly watched him leave, still debating whether or not to make the car swerve and crash. But while he was still arguing with himself, the car disappeared from sight. He heard a sudden crash from behind him and turned to see Ty entering the room with blood dripping from his mouth.

"Dad?" he got his attention.

"I think Sam stole your car."
