"Mom!" Priestly exclaimed, as soon as he heard the phone being picked up.
"Hey, Zeph," Faith replied. "How are you?"
"Me? Me?!" his voice went shrill.
"Whoa, calm down," she said, holding the phone away from her ear. "And yes, you."
Priestly shook his head, even though his mother couldn't see him. "You're really asking about me? After you dropped off the radar and I've heard nothing from you, and then I hear that Wolfram and Hart's building blew up and - "
"Calm, calm," Faith repeated. "And yes, ok, you probably deserve some explanation. The Senior Partners were trying to bring about the end of the world. We stopped it last week. It's all good in the hood. Well, you know, there's always gonna be evil a-brewin somewhere, but for now, we've taken out a Big Bad. We're all fine."
"And Dad?" Priestly asked.
Faith paused. "As far as I know, they're ok."
"You're not there?"
"I'm staying behind to help out here," she answered. "We're trying to get LA back in a state of control, it's been a bit crazy after we took Wolfram and Hart down."
Priestly was quiet for a moment, digesting this. "But you're still in LA?"
"I am," Faith replied. "Did you want me to swing by?"
"Duh, Mommy," Priestly smiled. "I miss you."
"I can't blame you."
