Matt yawned as he walked up the steps to Natalie and Taylor's house. He stopped at the front door and stretched, groaning in relief as his spine fell into place.
He raised his hand to ring the bell.
Natalie
Natalie's concentration on her studies was broken by the ringing of the doorbell. She muttered "meh" unedr her breath, threw her notes a despairing look, and finally got up. Her irritation at being interupted at a time when she was actually in the mood to study immediately disappeared when she looked through the peephole and saw her brother standing there.
"Matt!" she exclaimed delightedly as she opened the door.
Matt
"Nat-o-lina!" Matt grinned, pulling his sister in for a hug.
"How's my favourite sister?"
Natalie
Natalie hugged Matt back tightly.
"I'm great," she said. "And how are you? What brings you here? I didn't expect to see you."
Matt
"Well, I thought I'd drop in on my sister and my nephew," Matt grinned.
"I'm good, good. Winding down from university. And whatnot."
Natalie
"Cool, cool," Natalie replied. "River and Penny are both sleeping at the moment, and Tay's taken Ezra to band practice with him so he can play with Zac's kids."
She closed the front door.
Matt
"And how are my nephews and niece?" Matt asked, moving out of Natalie's way.
"And Taylor?"
Natalie
"Tay's good. Ezra's leaned how to ask 'why'," Natalie said, stifling a groan. "Penny's walking, 'nuff said. And River's cutest when he's sleeping. How about you?"
Natalie gestured towards the kitchen.
"Did you want a drink or anything?"
Matt
"Well, if Ez is asking 'why is Uncle Matt so awesome?' then... you're going to have to tell him," Matt said, nodding sagely. "Tell him why I am the best."
"I'm pretty good, pretty good, almost finished with university, lonely since Kate up and graduated! The nerve! So now when I want dinner cooked for me, I have to go home! Sheesh. You should tell her off for that."
He chuckled.
"Ummm, yeah, anything is good with me. Ohhh, do you have juice? You know I am a juice junkie!"
Natalie
Natalie chuckled.
"How could I forget?" she asked with a smirk. "Yeah, we have juice."
She started walking towards the kitchen. "Orange juice? Apple juice? I think we have some lemon juice too, but that's more of a condiment."
Matt
"Oooh, the choices!" Matt grinned and rubbed his hands together as he followed her.
"Actually, I'm going to be a massive pain in the butt, but I have to be because I'm your bro - and ask if I can have apple and orange mixed together? Because that, my good sister, is the ultimate juice combo!"
Natalie
"This can be arranged," Natalie replied as she entered the kitchen. "Just don't tell me you want mango juice too, because I just finished that off this morning."
She grinned at him, and then pulled a glass out of the cupboard.
Matt
Matt snapped his fingers.
"Oh darn!" he grinned.
He perched himself on one of the seats in the kitchen.
Natalie
Natalie chuckled and started mixing the juices up for her brother.
"I'm sure you'll get over it," she said.
