Repercussions

Written by Nessa

Liam

Liam sat alone in the dark, staring blankly out the window, the only light in the room a scented candle on the coffee table. He leaned forward and directed his attention to the flame.

He reached out and dangled his fingers over the candle, fingers tingling with the sensation. He let them stay there for a second, wanting to feel the pain from the burns. But no pain came, even as the skin on his fingers began to sizzle and blister. Nothing.

Liam tilted his head, his brain telling him that he should be feeling pain of some sort, but nothing happened. No pain, nothing more than a light tingle.

With a sigh, Liam pulled his hand back, examining his hand. He shrugged and then blew the candle out.

Nothing.
