Sam was nodding off as he sat by the window still, barely registering the time as he glanced at his watch for the upteenth time. The wood and glass remnants they'd left hidden in the front yard glistened in the moonlight and Sam wondered vaguely why the other neighbours couldn't see them if he could from where he was.
Oh well. The point was, they were there.
It was close to midnight when he finally saw movement in the yard. He grabbed his binoculars again even though he could barely see through them in the dark and aimed the lenses across at the path to Faith and Dean's front door. There was definitely a dark shape moving up towards the house, and for all properties it seemed to be the shape of a burly man.
"What the heck?" Sam frowned, wondering where the heck he'd come from.
He watched the man - or thing - open the door with ease and walk straight in. As if by reflex, Sam pulled out his phone and dialled for Faith.
Faith
Faith groggily reached beside her for her phone, and she pressed one of the keys in her sleep haze to answer.
"Mmm?"
Sam & Dean
"Faith, there's something in the house," Sam breathed, "I'm on my way."
He hung up and headed downstairs, calling out to Angel on the way.
Dean pushed himself up in the bed a little as he registered Faith's movement.
"What is it?" he murmured.
Faith and Angel
Faith slipped out of bed and headed for the door.
"We've got company, evidently," she said, just as she went down the stairs.
Angel got up from his armchair, and followed after Sam.
Dean & Sam
"Great timing," Dean grunted, following suit after stopping to fetch a shotgun from the closet.
He made it halfway down the stairs before spotting the thing.
"What the He-?"
Sam bolted across the front yard and to the front door, grabbing the doorknob to find it locked again.
Faith and Angel
Faith had already started fighting, she grabbed the fireplace poker and attacked, ducking and weaving out of the way.
Angel caught up to Sam and twisted the knob hard enough to break the lock.
Dean & Sam
Dean made it to the bottom of the stairs and aimed his shotgun, firing a round and hitting a lampshade behind the fight.
"Damn it," he cursed, ducking over to the hall closet to grab some hidden rounds to reload with.
Sam looked up at Angel in surprise.
"Sorry, I forgot about the ah... Nevermind."
He kicked the door open.
Faith and Angel
While Dean was in the closet, Faith pushed a heavy bookshelf in front of it to keep him out of the way.
She grabbed the back of the demon and threw it back against the wall, continuing on with the fight.
Angel followed Sam in and stopped short at Faith handling the demon by herself.
Dean & Sam
"What the?" Dean turned back to darkness.
Sam raised an eyebrow as he watched the fight.
"I guess she's... taking care of it."
Angel and Faith
Angel nodded, just watching as she stabbed the poker through the demons stomach, impaling it.
"Guess so."
Faith brought the poker up, splitting the demons head in two. She watched it collapse, and then dusted her hands off.
Sam
"Uh... have fun?" Sam asked, not having moved.
Faith and Angel
Faith turned around and saw Angel and Sam.
"Oh hey..." she then looked towards the closet. "Uh, should get Dean out."
Sam & Dean
"Where is he?" Sam frowned, a moment before the cupboard came crashing down and a not-so-happy-Dean-face appeared from the shadows.
Sam started chuckling.
"Faith?" Dean almost growled.
Faith
Faith shrugged.
"You were in the way."
Dean & Sam
"Excuse me?" Dean demanded, stepping out over the shattered wood.
"Maybe you were obstructing her 'process'," Sam held back a snort.
Angel and Faith
Angel grinned. "You good?"
"Yeah," Faith replied. "We may have to get rid of slimy though."
Sam & Dean
"Slimy and bloody and staining the carpet?" Sam looked disgusted.
"Whatever," Dean threw the shotgun down, "I'm going to bed."
He disappeared up the stairs.
Angel and Faith
"I might go back and see if I can find anything on this demon," Angel said, pointing over his shoulder. "Make sure it doesn't come back."
Faith nodded.
"Can you guys handle this? I'll be back as soon as I can."
Sam
"Taken care of," Sam insisted.
"Don't worry."
Angel and Faith
Angel nodded, and headed back out to the other house across the street.
Faith yawned, and went over to examine the remains of the demon.
Sam
"Did you have to make such a mess?" Sam teased, walking to the closet to fetch towels.
Faith
Faith grinned.
"Hey, you have to make use of what you have."
Sam
"True," Sam nodded.
He threw her a couple of towels and looked further in for a broom or bin or something he could scrape up the remains with.
Faith
Faith caught the towels and approached the remains to see how much she could clean up.
"Maybe I should put some pants on."
Sam
Sam hesitated, and turned to look at her.
"Tell me you're wearing underwear."
Faith
Faith grinned at him and lifted his shirt up, just to prove she was.
"Of course."
Sam
"Good," Sam nodded.
"Seeing as you're sleeping with my brother and all. And you ruined my shirt."
Faith
"Awww," Faith teased.
"Do I need to make it up to you?"
Sam
"Maybe you will," Sam smiled a little.
"Come stay in our house tonight?"
Faith
Faith nodded.
"Sure thing, handsome. I'll just change then I'll come help you."
Sam
"Don't take too long!" Sam mused.
Faith
Faith grinned to herself as she left the room to go change.
