Priestly watched Faith from the shadows, her long brown hair flowing out behind her as she fought, her movements almost a choreographed dance. Twist, block, punch, duck, kick. Spinning around, leaving blood and dust in her wake.
She dusted the last vampire and straightened up. She tilted her head to the side.
"What do you want?" she asked, her voice even.
Priestly tensed, staying absolutely still and silent, scarcely daring to breathe.
"I know you're there, kid," Faith went on. "So you may as well come out."
He stepped out from his hiding place as she turned around, and she noticed the axe in his hand immediately.
"Just chopping some firewood?" she asked sarcastically.
Priestly stayed quiet.
"Alright," Faith sighed, as if used to this. "Let's go."
"You're not curious about me," he said, more than asked.
She shook her head. "Don't really like to get personal with someone I'm going to kill."
"Or be killed by," Priestly smirked.
Faith laughed at that. "Ooh, you think you have a shot, kid?"
"I know I do."
"This is going to be so much fun."
Faith twisted, ducking out of the way of the axe, dodging his blows without fighting back at all for the first few minutes. She let him get confident in the fight, not fighting back, but rather just dodging, ducking and weaving.
"Getting tired?" Priestly asked, grinning.
"Nah, you're just boring," she replied.
She started to fight back, snapping a kick into his stomach and sending him flying back. He flipped to his feet, then raised the axe in one hand, the other slightly bent as he tried to hold her still with her telekinesis.
Just as he was about to bring the blade down, their eyes locked.
Priestly stopped, and for a long moment, mother and son stared at each other.
Ty clouded his appearance to Faith, and teleported into the scene.
"Do it, Priestly," he ordered, voice low and deadly.
"I..."
"She's evil."
"Her eyes," Priestly managed to get out.
Faith's eyes never left Priestly's, and he started to lower his weapon.
"Jesus," Ty spat, grabbing the axe from Priestly's hands. "Do I have to do everything myself?"
He brought the axe down and it embedded in Faith's side. He pulled it out again, smiling in satisfaction, then shooting Priestly a look, as the younger man rushed to Faith's side, letting go of her with his telekinesis.
"Heal her!" Priestly demanded, putting his hands over Faith's, both of them covering the large gash. "She'll die."
Ty grinned, and simply grabbed Priestly by the arm and pulled him up.
"That was the point," he said, then teleported them out.
Faith blinked, falling from her knees down to the ground. She coughed, spatterings of blood covering the ground, and she clutched at her side weakly, desperately trying to hold herself together.
Her eyes slid closed.
