It was mid afternnon and Annika was sitting at the entry way, he head rest on her wrist and looking very bored. They had sold all the tickets they were likely to for the day, so mostly she was still there to check people who left for lunch or whatever and then came back.
It was very slow.
And they hadn't sold nearly as many tickets as they needed to.
She couldn't believe Cliff had talked her into this. Even now he was clowing around, showing off for the non-competitors his abilities to play videon games without having to use the controller. Meanwhile, Binar was doing the real work, monitoring the contest. Corinne was at a booth, selling merchandise, their games, and game cards. She was look as bored as Annika felt.
There were also a number of hireds around, all looking bored too. Annika realised she didn't need to have hired quite so many, as nowhere near the number of people they needed to break even had come. Cutting down on staff would have brought that break even point down lower too.
She blamed Cliff.
He had better be right about the promotional benefits of this because there was no way she was going to let him talk her into this again next year otherwise. No matter how much he begged.
