Giles and Faith

Giles checked the piece of paper he'd scribbled the name of the cafe down on. He looked up at the sign, confirmed it was the correct address, and then walked up to the door, pushing through and looking around for Faith.

He spotted her in the corner booth, absently tearing up a napkin, cup of coffee in front of her. He walked over and smiled faintly.

"Faith," he greeted.

Faith looked up and returned the smile. "Hey."

Giles slid into the seat across from her. He looked up at the waitress as she approached and ordered tea, thanking her as she left.

"So, we're assuming it's a Slayer thing?" Faith asked.

The former Watcher took his glasses off, polishing them before speaking. "Yes, that is how it seems."

"All the girls are sick?" she pressed. "All of them?"

"All of them," Giles replied. "I have spoken to Anya and Andrew, and their girls have come down with it too."

"And it started with the flu symptoms?" Faith looked concerned.

"Willow's theory is that it is attacking the Slayer gene, if you will," Giles continued. "It seems to be affecting the hybrid Slayers more than the ones who had started off as human, like yourself."

Faith nodded. "From what we discussed... it sounds like Legacy. Only... it's specific to Slayers this time, not mutants."

"From what you've said, and seeing you now, you don't seem as affected as the girls at the school," Giles told her. "I don't know if that's an indication of strength or experience..."

"Maybe you guys should talk to Hank," Faith suggested. "See if there are any similarities between Legacy and this virus. If it's attacking the specific gene, it sounds like Legacy. He might have some ideas on how it works."
