"Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday B'E and To-om! Happy birthday to you!" Zac and Julie sang together.
The twins clapped and giggled, then blew out the candles on their matching cakes. Julie and Zac cheered as all eight candles went out. Julie then took out the candles and started cutting up the cake while Zac kept the impatient children entertained. Elle and the rest of the nannies hovered nearby, for Dee Dee, Brock, Tinga, Josh, Cindy and Dax were all in attendance, as was Saku.
The wrapping paper from their presents were still on the floor, the younger children finding the paper more entertaining than the actual presents.
Cake was passed around, and everyone ate, some with more finesse than others. It was all very messy with much cleanup required.
After the little party was over, Zac made an over-dramatic presentation of restoring B'E and Tom to Julie's custody. This made Julie roll her eyes (although she was secretly gratified).
"I'm sorry," she said. "I know you're a good Dad, I'm just... just..."
She trailed off, uncertain as to how to finish the sentance and happened to glance at Saku. She smiled.
"I'm just a mama bear, okay?" she said.
Saku laughed, while Zac looked confused.
"Umm, okay..."
"I'll explain later," Saku assured him.
