Faith struggled to open her eyes, blinking several times in the morning sun. She felt sluggish and warm, too warm, and there was a light sheen of sweat on her forehead.
She rolled over again, her arm touching Sam's back and she left it there, his skin feeling nice and cool under her burning skin.
Sam
Sam jumped awake at the touch, instantly feeling the heat radiating from her.
"Hey," he rolled over tiredly, "you ok?"
Faith
Faith nodded weakly, finding it hard to open her eyes again, so she left them closed.
"It's hot in here, that's all."
Sam & Dean
"Faith you're burning up," Sam sat up, one hand touching the side of her face.
"Dean!"
A grunt came from the other bed.
Sam turned the bedside light on and blinked hard to adjust his eyes.
Faith
Faith tried to open her eyes again, managing to get them open slightly. She looked at Sam through bloodshot eyes.
"M'ok," she mumbled. "Just hot."
Sam & Dean
"Unbelievably hot," Sam frowned, getting out of the bed.
"Come on, let's get you into the cold shower."
"I had to wake up for that?" Dean groaned, leaning up on his elbow.
Faith
Faith tried to sit, but she couldn't seem to control her muscles enough to do so. She made it about halfway before crumpling back down against the pillows.
Sam & Dean
Sam disappeared into the bathroom and started the shower before returning to carry her. Dean had followed Faith's lead and fallen back into his pillow.
"Come on," Sam grunted as he lifted her.
He took her in to the shower, sat her on the toilet, and started undressing her.
Faith
Faith swayed slightly as she sat there, letting Sam go about his business.
"I'm ok," she said again. "Really."
Sam
"You are not fine," Sam insisted as he got her shirt off.
"How many fingers am I holding up?"
Faith
Faith tried to focus.
"I don't know... four."
Sam
"Faith, I don't even have my hand up," Sam shook his head.
Once she had her clothes off, he lifted her easily into the shower and placed her under the cold water.
Faith
Faith let out a sigh of relief as the water hit her body, instantly cooling her down.
"Can I just sleep here?"
Sam
"You might have to," Sam sighed, sitting back on the toilet.
Faith
"I think it's the flu," Faith said, resting her head against the shower wall.
"At least, what I remember the flu to feel like. I haven't been sick in so long."
Sam
"Well last time you got the flu, I remember it stemming from something else," Sam said tiredly.
"You don't usually get sick. Something's wrong."
Faith
"Sam, go to bed," Faith said, letting the water run over her face.
"I'll just hang here for a bit."
Sam
"Nuh ah," Sam shook his head, "I'll sleep here if you do. You're not getting rid of me that easy."
Faith
"What if Dean needs to use the toilet?" Faith asked, reaching up to rub her face.
"It's ok. I think I can go back to bed... but just... don't dry me off."
Sam
"You're not wetting the bed," Sam insisted.
"Do you want me to get some ice from the ice machine?"
Faith
"Yeah," Faith said slowly.
"I'll just... wait here for a bit longer."
Sam
Sam nodded, and went to do his word.
He came back minutes later, careful not to disturb Dean, and went to put some ice in the frezzer and the rest into a couple of towels.
When he had the bed ready he went to fetch Faith, drying her off first.
Faith
Faith rested against Sam drowsily as he dried her off.
"So dizzy," she mumbled sleepily. "Maybe there's something really wrong."
Sam
"We'll get you into bed and see what you're like in a few days. If nothing changes, we'll contact Angel on the weekend and see if anyone there knows anything," Sam offered.
He dressed her again and carried her back to the bed, making sure she lay on the ice evenly.
Faith
"Angel no go," Faith reminded Sam sleepily. "Still missing."
She relaxed back against the ice, trying to fix herself so she was touching ice with every part of her body.
"Hank might be able to help."
Sam
"We'll find someone," Sam assured, fixing himself a makeshift bed on the floor.
"Get some sleep."
Faith
Faith closed her eyes gratefully, falling asleep within seconds.
