"Are they really?" Avery asked, glancing over at Lo from under her sunglasses.
Lo snorted. "Yeah. Stephen, Dieter and Trey do it every year. It's tradition. A lame one, but tradition."
"It just seems... cliche," Avery replied. "Watching Independence Day on Independence Day. Plus, it paints aliens in a bad light."
"Because we're fine, upstanding citizens?" Lo teased.
"Well, yes!" Avery protested, but she giggled. "And we're not all gooey and green."
"Yeah, you are," Lo joked.
"Ok, you have me there," Avery grinned. "I use my telepathy to make you think I look normal."
