Approaching the Bill-Payers

Amber

Amber handed over Natalie's card to her parents.

"I know she's more expensive than Dr Lenvy," she said. "But she only wants to meet with me once a week, not three times. And she said I could have the massage at home if I want."

"So... you want to see a different empath just because she gives massage?" her mother questioned.

"Umm, no, Natalie Hanson isn't an empath."

"It says so right here: empathic healer."

"Empathic healing and empathy are two different things," Amber explained authoritively. "Empathic healing is just like physical healing, except it works on the empathic level. Mom, Dad, Natalie could actually sense my... long-term emotional state, not just what I was feeling at that moment like Dr Lenvy does. She could even sense that I had had long term therapy. Uneffective therapy."

She looked at them significantly.

"Honey, I don't know about this," her mother said. "We don't know anything about her."

"Hanson... any relation to Saku?" her father inquired.

Amber nodded.

"She's his Aunt. Through marriage. Please, I wouldn't be asking if I didn't really want this."

"We'll think about it."
