Faith leaned over Dean as the window was wound down, to speak into the box at the gate.
"Logan, don't screw around. Let us in."
A grunt was the reply before the gates opened, allowing them entrance to drive up to the Mansion.
She leaned back over into her street, and watched the grounds of the Mansion pass by in a blur.
Sam & Dean
"Let's get this over and done with and get out of here," Sam grunted from the back seat.
"That's the plan," Dean said as they pulled in and to a halt.
Faith
Faith opened the door and stepped out of the car, closing it behind her, and heading for the stairs.
She stopped and smiled faintly, shaking her head.
"Xavier's expecting us."
Dean & Sam
"No doubt," Dean muttered, closing the door behind him and following Sam up the stairs.
Faith and Logan
Faith was just through the doors when Logan appeared from the control room.
"Darlin'," he said, nodding. "Here to see the Professor?"
"Yeah," Faith replied. "Three of us. You want to... make yourself scarce?"
"Not really."
Sam
"Of course not," Sam sighed, smiling sarcastically as he saw him.
Logan and Faith
"Next time," Logan said to Faith, leading the trio towards the elevators to get to Xavier's office. "Ditch the kid."
Faith rolled her eyes.
Sam & Dean
"Why, so you can have some alone time?" Sam cut.
"Sam," Dean used a warning tone.
Logan and Faith
The doors to the lift opened and Logan paused to let Faith go first.
"I just wouldn't want you to be bored, kid," Logan said to Sam.
Faith leaned against the wall, letting out a sigh.
Sam & Dean
"Oh don't worry, I'm sure I'll have a ton of fun here," Sam smiled, walking in with Dean on his heels.
Logan and Faith
"Not as much fun as I will," Logan returned, eyeing Faith up and down.
Faith ignored it with the air of someone who was used to Logan's advances.
Sam & Dean
Sam pointedly stood between them as Dean stood by the buttons.
"What floor?" he asked, already fed up.
Logan and Faith
"Three," Logan said to Dean.
He returned his attention to Sam, smirking slightly.
"Not letting her make her own choices?"
Sam & Dean
"Look who's talking," Sam smirked back.
Dean rolled his eyes and pressed for three, before going to lean by Faith.
"Ready for longest elevator ride ever?" he joked.
Faith and Logan
"I really don't see the point of this," Faith replied to Dean. "Save me."
Logan raised his eyebrows. "Never had to pressure her at all."
Dean & Sam
"With pleasure," Dean grinned, grabbing her and kissing her deeply.
Sam's head spun.
"Dean!"
Faith and Logan
Faith grinned, pulling back from Dean. "Well, that's been awhile."
Logan's nostrils flared.
Dean & Sam
"You know if we screwed I bet time would pass even faster," Dean teased.
Sam rolled his eyes, begging the lift to go faster.
Faith and Logan
"How fast can you go?" Faith joked.
Logan turned to look at Faith. "I wouldn't joke. I can smell it, you know."
She grinned. "I forgot about that."
Dean & Sam
"Mind your business, hairball."
Sam breathed a sigh of relief as the doors opened on level three.
"Damn," Dean snapped his fingers and walked out.
Faith and Logan
Faith grinned, and walked out alongside Dean.
Logan glared at the pair, before following suit and then leading them in the direction of the office.
Dean
"So what do I have to do for this... cerebro thing?" Dean cleared his throat.
Faith
"Go in, Xavier will take the imprint from your mind, and then you'll go down to Cerebro andall you have to do is stand there."
Faith shrugged.
"Be absolutely still though. It won't hurt."
Dean & Sam
"Great," Dean took a deep breath.
"I'm sure you'll be taken care of," Sam mused.
Faith and Logan
Faith was about to say something when the door to Xavier's office opened.
"Faith," he greeted pleasantly. "Good to see you again, though I wish it were under better circumstances."
Faith smiled faintly. "As always. Professor, this is Sam and Dean Winchester."
Logan nodded at the Professor.
Sam & Dean
"It's an honor to meet you," Sam said pleasantly, as Dean stood awkwardly beside him unsure of whether he should be bowing or not.
Faith
"Dean?" Xavier asked pleasantly. "If you'd like to come with me?"
Faith glanced at Dean and nodded encouragingly.
Sam & Dean
"Go on," Sam nodded.
Dean looked between them, slipped his hands in his pockets and started following the professor.
Faith and Logan
"Mmm, threesome," Faith said, hoping to break the awkward silence.
Logan looked over at her. "Not likely, darlin'."
Sam & Dean
"How long are they gonna be?" Sam asked.
~*~
Dean looked around in awe as he entered Cerebro.
"What is this place?" he asked.
Faith and Logan
"I don't have a whole lot of experience with Cerebro," Faith said, then looked over at Logan.
Logan shrugged. "A few minutes, maybe."
~*~*~*~
Xavier smiled, looking around at the large metal room.
"Cerebro. Custom designed for me to be able to find every mutant in existance."
He put the headset over his head and closed his eyes for a second.
"See those lights?" he asked, indicating the white lights across the room.
Dean
"Yeah?" Dean squinted a little, wondering where the heck they'd all come from when a moment earlier he'd been in a metal dome.
Logan and Faith
"From here, I can see every mutant out in the world," Xavier explained. "Those lights... those are the mutants."
~*~*~*~
"So," Logan said, taking a step towards Faith. "Only here for the afternoon then?"
Faith folded her arms over her chest. "Yeah. Around about."
Dean & Sam
"Every single one of them?" Dean's eyebrows rose.
~*~
"As soon as we get a location we're gone," Sam insisted, moving around behind her.
Logan and Faith
"Every single one," Xavier replied. "Now, I'm about to enter your mind, are you ready?"
~*~*~*~
"You might leave after that," Logan smirked. "But Faith might want to stay around."
Faith sighed. "Hey, is Storm around? Maybe I'll go see her."
Dean & Sam
"Ah... I guess," Dean shrugged, folding his arms over his chest nervously.
~*~
"Yeah, why don't we?" Sam agreed.
Logan and Faith
"Alright," Xavier said softly.
He let his prescence enter Dean's mind gently.
~*~*~*~
Logan smirked slightly at Sam wanting to get away.
"She's leading a group in the Danger Room," he told Faith. "Feel up for some light training?"
Faith shrugged. "How light?"
Dean & Sam
Dean waited patiently, not feeling anything, as he continued gazing up at the lights.
~*~
"Sure," Sam muttered sarcastically, knowing it was Logan's ploy to get those two alone as he wouldn't be invited.
Logan and Faith
Xavier zeroed in on the imprint he needed, then used that to find the person in question through Cerebro.
He was a little troubled by the other events in Dean's mind, and made a note to talk to Faith about it.
~*~*~*~
"Light," Logan said, shrugging. "It's Storm. And the younger students."
"I might pass," Faith said, reaching for Sam's hand absently.
Logan's nostrils flared slightly and Faith turned her face up towards Sam's.
"Want a tour?" she asked.
Dean & Sam
Dean squinted as he saw the lights move by faster, a few of them enlarging so that bodies could be seen coming closer.
~*~
"Sure," Sam couldn't help but smile sweetly at Logan as he squeezed her hand.
"What have we got here?"
Faith and Logan
Xavier breathed deeply through hsi noce, focusing on the mutant in question, but he was unable to get a clear picture of him through Cerebro.
"It's tricky," he said to Dean. "Because he has a cloaking power that he obviously uses all of the time. What I can do, is keep watch over him, and send Faith updates as to where he is."
~*~*~*~
"Up here? Mostly dorms, I think," Faith said, leading Sam away from Logan. "A lot of students here... they can't go home, and their parents don't know what they really do here."
She changed her course of direction for the stairs, while Logan watched after them, silently.
"It's an amazing place," she continued. "The grounds are huge... none of the students want for anything here."
Dean & Sam
"Good enough," Dean fumbled for a moment for paper and pen.
"Do you know where he is now?"
~*~
"That's kinda sad," Sam frowned, "having nowhere else to go."
Faith
"Madison, Wisconsin," Xavier replied, looking a little harder.
"I doubt he'll be travelling great distances, considering he's travelling with a child."
~*~*~*~
Faith shrugged.
"Here's better than nowhere. Some people have nowhere to go at all. Sure as hell wish I'd had here back when I was a kid."
She shook that thought off, and led Sam down through the caf.
"
Dean & Sam
Dean quickly jotted that down.
"Shouldn't take long to track him down," he nodded.
~*~
"I know," Sam put his arm around her shoulders almost protectively.
"I almost do too."
Faith and Bobby
Xavier nodded, and disconnected himself from Cerebro.
"Well," he said, chuckling as he overheard some thoughts from upstairs. "I suppose we'd better go find your brother and Faith before a fight breaks out in my school."
~*~*~*~
"Dude," Faith said, spotting Bobby outside in the grounds. "Don't you live away from here now?"
Bobby chuckled, turning to face them. "Yeah, but Hank's still trying to work out the Legacy thing. Plus, there's a massive baking fest happening in my own kitchen. So, I'm escaping. Plus, Storm's wearing leather pants today. So good."
"You're such a perve."
Bobby grinned. "She shouldn't wear leather if she doesn't want me looking, is all I'm saying."
Dean & Sam
"Yeah, probably a good idea," Dean slipped the book back into his jacket pocket.
"Sorry our arrival's not exactly causing pleasant circumstances."
~*~
"Somehow I think you and my brother would get along just fine," Sam mused.
Bobby and Faith
Xavier nodded, stopping to wait for the doors to open automatically.
"It's perfectly fine," he assured Dean. "Faith's visits usually... well, let's just say I have become accustomed to the results."
~*~*~*~
"Yeah?" Bobby grinned. "He awesome like me?"
"Neither of you are awesome," Faith said, shaking her head.
"Eh, you try and hide it, but you love me," the younger mutant replied, sending another grin in her direction. "I'm off for a run, guess I'll catch you whenever you're next in town, Faith."
"If you're lucky," she told him.
"I'd like to get lucky!" he tossed over his shoulder, before jogging away, chuckling to himself.
Dean & Sam
"I can imagine," Dean's eyebrows rose.
He led the way out as soon as the doors opened.
~*~
"We should probably head back," Sam said to Faith, once Bobby was out of sight.
Faith
Xavier travelled along behind Dean.
"Still," he regarded. "It is always nice to see she's doing well."
~*~*~*~
"Probably should," Faith mused. She sighed slightly, then turned around and headed back towards where they would meet the others.
Dean & Sam
"You seem like the kind of guy that likes to keep tabs on people," Dean said as he fell back to walk level with the professor.
It wasn't a snide remark, more an observation.
Xavier
"I suppose it is a hazard of the job," Xavier replied. "Teacher's often get involved with their students, and psychologists often wish the best for their patients."
He shrugged slightly.
"Faith was not technically a student, nor a patient, but she spent a great deal of time here in my counsel."
Dean
"Well I for one am glad," Dean smiled a little.
"I'm sure she wouldn't be the woman she is without her time here. I'm still getting my head around this place existing."
Xavier and Faith
Xavier smiled and nodded. "It takes a bit of getting used to, I suppose. But, we are a school, first and foremost. And a safe haven, for those who need it."
~*~*~*~
Faith led the way up the stairs, one hand sliding along the railing.
Dean & Sam
"And I'm sure it's greatly apprecited. You do some important work," Dean cleared his throat as Sam and Faith came into view.
The brothers nodded to each other in greeting.
"Any luck?" Sam asked as he got closer.
Xavier and Faith
"Indeed," Xavier nodded. "More successful than I had originally thought."
"Coolness," Faith said, slipping her hand into Sam's.
"Uh, Faith?" Xavier asked. "May I have a word?"
"Sure thing."
Dean & Sam
Dean looked confused, but walked over to his brother.
"We'll hang," Sam shrugged, letting go of Faith and stepping back.
"Have you found the food yet?" Dean asked.
Xavier and Faith
"One level down," Xavier said to Dean.
"And they have freshly baked pies," Faith called over her shoulder.
She walked alongside Xavier as they head to his office.
