Painful

Written by Nessa and AiMsTeR

Faith and Angel

Faith blinked, her mouth opening slightly as she dropped the mug of tea she had been holding. Hot tea sprayed across the floor, and she grabbed onto the counter, letting out a gasp of pain.

"Faith!" Angel rushed to her side, supporting her arms to help her stand. "What happened?"

Faith's body instinctively tried to curl into a ball, and she hunched over, taking deep pained breaths. "I'm ok, it's just - ah!"

"You're not ok, I'm getting you to the hospital," he told her.

"No, no, I'm - " she wavered on the spot, and Angel scooped her into his arms.

Angel watched Faith from the doorway of the hospital room. She was out, heavily sedated for the pain.

With a sigh, he turned away and pulled out his phone, dialling in Sam's number.

Sam & Dean

Dean looked over as Sam's phone rang.

"Angel?" Sam frowned as he pulled it out.

"That can't be good," Dean rolled his eyes as Sam answered.

"Angel, hi...?"

Angel

"Sam, uh, sorry, how far are you from LA?"

Angel scratched his chin.

Sam & Dean

"Hold on a sec."

Sam turned to Dean.

"Where are we?"

"You're kidding, right?"

"How far from LA?" Sam sighed.

"I don't know, we could make it in a day?"

"About a day's drive, why?" Sam frowned into the phone.

Angel

"Faith's in hospital," Angel said, glancing towards her room.

"There's been some complications. I don't know much more, the test results haven't come back yet."

Sam & Dean

"Head back, now," Sam demanded suddenly.

"What? Why?" Dean screwed his face up.

"Faith's in hospital. Complications," Sam said, before returning the phone to his ear, "is it bad? Should I take a flight?"

Angel

"She probably won't be awake for awhile," Angel said, rubbing his forehead.

"They had to give her something for the pain, so she's knocked out at the moment. It's..."

He paused.

"I won't lie, I haven't seen her in that much pain in awhile."

Sam

"They're not gonna keep her out for over 24 hours though, right?" Sam's eyebrows rose.

Angel

"No, but I imagine she's going to be fairly groggy," Angel said.

"It's ok, I'm not going anywhere."

Sam

"Ok, I'll call when we're there and find out where you are. Thanks, Angel," Sam sighed.

Angel

"No problem."

Angel hung up and went back to wait by Faith's room.
