Faith tossed Dean a bag of food, before settling down on the bed she was sharing with Sam with her own bag.
"I'm giving myself the night off," she groaned, her back cracking as she stretched.
Dean & Sam
"Awesome," Dean practically drooled, opening the bag.
"PIE! Faith? I heart you."
"You shouldn't be working so much to begin with," Sam said absently as he typed away on his laptop.
Faith
Faith laughed, sliding the bag of food over to Sam.
"You'll heart me more in a minute, Dean."
She held up another bag and jiggled it teasingly.
"Rainbow Tart?"
Dean & Sam
"Oh no way!"
"Huh?" Sam looked up, before eyeing the bag and opening it with his right hand while his left held the computer.
Dean stood from the bed and made to grab at the bag.
Faith
Faith nodded and handed him the bag, a serious expression on her face.
"We're gathered here today to witness the merging of the two greatest foods ever," she recited.
Dean & Sam
"In the name of the father, the son and the hot chick," Dean bowed with his hands in prayer, before breaking the bag open.
Sam looked on with a raised eyebrow as Dean pulled out one of the tarts Faith had... assaulted.
"Mmm... need toaster."
Faith
Faith laughed suddenly, as she thought of something.
"Hey, remember when we snuck into the teacher's lounge to use theirs and we almost burnt the place down because we left them in too long?"
She moved up next to Sam, leaning back against bedhead, one of her legs over one of his.
Dean & Sam
"Yeah," Dean chuckled, "poor Mr. Brighton. Old dude nearly had a heart attack that day."
"What is it?" Sam asked Faith as Dean looked through the cupboards for a toaster.
Faith
"Poptarts, any flavour, but Dean and I favour the iced rasberry ones, stuffed with rainbow belts," Faith explained.
She grinned faintly.
"I think we thought it up at a party or something? Shortly after hooking up. Though... you probably didn't care about that detail."
Dean & Sam
"Or you know, as 'hooked up' as you can get in grade school," Dean grunted, pulling the toaster out and throwing two in.
"You're kidding, right?" Sam looked between them, "that's disgusting..."
"Don't knock it 'til you've tried it!" Dean scorned.
Faith
"Like he says," Faith said, glancing at Sam.
"Admittedly, the first time we tried it, we were slightly drunk, but even sober, they were awesome."
Dean & Sam
Dean waited impatiently as the first two cooked, pulling them out as soon as they were done.
He threw them in the air a few times to try and cool them down, before throwing one at Sam and one at Faith. Then he put two in for himself.
Sam looked it over, swapping fingers every now and then because it was still hot, then raised an eyebrow at Faith.
"Seriously?"
Faith
Faith nodded, breaking a corner off her poptart and letting it cool for a second.
"Seriously."
Sam & Dean
Sam looked it over again, poking at it, as Dean smirked. He waited until Faith had her first bite, then followed suit.
"So? How are our seventh grade culinary skills?" Dean mused.
Sam's eyebrows rose as he bit down on the sour belt, but after a cough and a few more chews he nodded his head.
"I won't treat them as a special dessert my any means, but... they're edible."
Faith
Faith grinned before running a hand through her hair, the charm bracelet from Sam jingling slightly.
"Told you."
Dean & Sam
Dean's eye caught the bracelet as it hit the light. He tilted his head in interest, but the tarts popped a moment later. Fetching them he threw them onto the counter, making a mental note to check out the jewelery on his way back to his bed.
"Barely, edible," Sam corrected, unsure if he wanted another bite.
Faith
Faith grinned and pointed at the other bag of food.
"It's ok, you don't have to eat it. I did get you other stuff."
Sam
Sam leant over and grabbed the bag, kissing her on the cheek as he leant back in the other direction.
"Thanks," he grinned.
Faith
Faith lay back, resting her head on Sam's thigh as she fiddled with the poptart.
"There's candy in there too, I believe."
Sam & Dean
"Got it," Sam held it up triumphantly before digging for the real food.
Dean grabbed his tarts and headed back to his bed, his eye on Faith's wrist. He frowned a little when he saw the charm bracelet, wondering absently how long she'd had it.
Faith
"I'm just too good for you," Faith teased.
She held her hand out for the bag.
"Burger me."
Sam & Dean
Sam threw one so that it landed in her hand.
"Where did you get that?" Dean asked suddenly, making his staring suddenly obvious as he stopped by the bed.
Faith
"Get what?" Faith asked, unwrapping the burger.
She glanced at Dean and followed his eyeline down to her wrist.
"Oh. From Sam."
Sam & Dean
Sam looked over curiously.
"Sam?" Dean frowned.
"What?" he asked, cluelessly, as he looked down at the bracelet.
"Where did you get that?"
"Is something wrong with it?" Sam asked, "because they're all protective charms."
Faith
Faith looked at Dean, then at Sam, and then at her bracelet.
"Care to share with the class?"
Dean & Sam
Dean spared Faith a glance, before his eyes fell.
"No. But you shouldn't wear it."
He went to sit on his bed, looking forlorn.
Sam frowned at Faith, then looked at his brother.
"You've gotta do better than that, man," he shook his head.
Faith
Faith looked at Sam, raising an eyebrow.
"Is this a brother thing? I can go..."
Dean & Sam
"I don't want to talk about it," Dean insisted as Sam shrugged cluelessly.
"Dean-"
"Sam, don't. Not now."
Sam sighed, annoyed, befoe going back to his bag of food and fishing out his own burger.
Faith
"Well," Faith said, breaking the silence. "I think I'm going to go... somewhere away."
She stood, grabbing her jacket from the back of the chair and starting for the door.
Sam & Dean
Sam debated with himself for a moment whether or not to argue, but decided to let her go. Once she was through the door, he turned to his brother.
"So talk."
"Mom had a bracelet like that," Dean said straight out.
"What?" Sam frowned.
"When I first... when she tackled me, back in the 70s, it as how I knew she was a hunter," Dean explained, "it was a silver charm bracelet just like the one you gave Faith."
Sam hesitated thoughtfully, then chewed on his lip for a moment.
"Dean... Bobby gave me that bracelet," he squinted, "do you think...?"
"I don't know," Dean shook his head, "but I plan to find out."
Sam nodded, then stood from the bed.
"Where are you going?" Dean frowned.
"To get Faith. She deserves to know."
Dean hesitated, but got back to eating. Sam made for the door and stepped through, spotting Faith off in the distance.
"HEY!" he called after her, closing the door behind him.
Faith and Gunn
Faith tilted her head slightly, hearing Sam call for her.
"So?" Gunn pressed.
"If I do it, you owe me big time," she told him.
"I know, I know."
"See ya Chuckles."
She flipped her phone closed, and turned to meet Sam.
Sam
"Who was that?" Sam asked, walking up to her.
Faith
"Gunn," Faith said, sliding her phone into her pocket.
"What's up? You and Dena thrash it out?"
Sam
"Just the opposite, actually," Sam looked awkward for a moment.
"There's just a slight, maybe 70% chance, that the bracelet you're wearing once belonged to our Mom..."
Faith
"Oh."
Faith glanced at her feet.
"Um... well. Then... I probably shouldn't wear it."
Sam
"No, no," Sam insisted.
"Bobby gave it to me to give to you. He obviously knew the significance, he just didn't know that Dean knew. As long as we're together, it's yours. Seriously."
Faith
Faith was quiet for a moment.
"Yeah, but if it weirds Dean out..."
Sam
"He'll get over it," Sam shrugged it off.
"It's not as if you're going to stain it with blood or lose it or anything."
Faith
"Well, actually... that could happen."
Faith reached out for Sam's hand.
"So, I might actually make a trip back to LA soon, just a flying visit."
Sam
"I thought that might be coming," Sam nodded, eyes to the ground as he took her hand.
"It's just been awhile, so I figure it's time to check in with my sponsor."
Faith shrugged.
Sam
"We need to head North to Bobby's again," Sam was watching something down the street a bit before looking back at her.
"We could head there afterward to pick you up, or... you can meet up with us there if that's too long to wait."
Faith
"Yeah, I have to help Gunn out with something lady related," Faith shrugged.
She leaned in closer to Sam, reaching up to kiss his cheek.
"So, is Dean ok?"
Sam
"He'll be fine, seriously," Sam insisted.
"Don't worry about him. Besides, he's got worse things to worry about."
Faith
"Alright, well..."
Faith leaned into Sam a little more.
"As long as you guys have it under control... and as long as you don't cry too much while I'm gone."
Sam
Sam sighed dramatically, hugging her.
"I'll try. But it's going to be hard."
Faith
"Oh, I bet."
Faith reached her arms up around his neck.
Sam
"Really, really, hard," Sam mused, swaying her a bit as he leant in to kiss her.
Faith
Faith grinned into the kiss, fingers gently massaging the back of Sam's neck.
"That sounds very hard."
