"I'm s-so-sorry," Topher managed to stammer, looking across at the woman he'd bumped into.

"No biggie," she answered, shrugging. "You ok?"

"F-fine," he told her, glancing at her face again, before looking down at his feet.

"Alright." The woman shrugged and nodded, then moved around him, continuing on her way, two bags of food in each hand.

Topher stared after her for a long moment, studying the way she walked, her mannerisms and the way she carried herself.

His memory had not failed him in his creation of Echo. She was exactly like the woman walking away from him. Faith was almost exactly how he'd remembered her from high school. A little softer now though. She'd been unapproachable before. Still had that air, but she seemed more available.

Echo. Faith. It was perfect.

Shaking his head to snap himself from his thoughts, Topher pulled the diner door open, stepping inside to have lunch.
