Matt and Kate

"Door was open," Matt said, walking into the study, where Kate was only just visible behind the piles of books on the table.

"Yeah, I think the latch is broken," Kate replied, sticking her head up a little higher.

"I can fix that for you, if you want," Matt offered.

"Actually," she said, grinning. "That would be kind of great."

"No probs, just need a tool kit."

"You are a tool kit."

"Hey, you want me to fix the door?" he grinned.

"I'm sorry," she chuckled, standing up. "I think I have some laying around. You finish early today?"

"Skipped my last class," Matt said, following her from the study. "It wasn't anything important, and I had some stuff to do off campus anyway."

"So you thought you'd come and fix my door? That's nice," Kate joked.

She handed him the tool belt from under the sink in the laundry and the pair of them went to the front door.

"You go home for Christmas?" he asked, peering at the latch.

"Yeah, then I went to see Nat on Boxing Day."

"Ah, yeah, Mom mentioned that. Said something about Zac too."

Kate rolled her eyes. "I think we're the talk of Georgia."

Matt snorted. "Well, Newnan is boring."

"Hey!" she thwacked him lightly on the shoulder.

"You love me anyway."

"No way. You have cooties."

"Yep, and I'm giving them to your door."

"Weirdo."

"Geek."
