Angel flipped his cell phone open, going out into the corridor to call Sam.
"So, what are we doing with this one?" Gunn asked, gesturing to the unconscious Lindsey, crumpled up in the corner of the cage.
"Kill him?" Spike suggested. "Usually does the trick."
Lorne stayed silent.
Dean & Sam
Dean pulled up outside Wolfram & Hart as Sam's phone rang. Sam was on the pavement by the time he answered.
"Yeah?" he answered, not checking who it was.
Faith and Angel
Faith got out of the car beside Sam, looking around at her surroundings.
"Sam," Angel said. "We have him. Basement level."
Sam & Dean
"Great, thanks," Sam hung up.
He turned to Dean who'd also gotten out of the car.
"Basement," he nodded.
Dean armed his gun and made his way around the car as Sam led Faith into the building.
Faith, Angel, Gunn and Lorne
Faith stepped into the basement, at Sam's prodding. She rubbed her arms, looking around in a mix of fear and wonder.
"Faith," Angel said, looking at her.
"N...no," she replied uncertainly.
"Sleeping Beauty is waking up," Gunn told everyone.
Lorne stepped forward.
Sam & Dean
Sam kept a hand on Faith's shoulder, at the same time using her as a sort of barrier so that he didn't just outright attack Lindsay. As hard as it was to contain himself from doing so.
Dean stepped forward in his place.
"What's the go?" he demanded.
Spike, Gunn, Angel, Lorne and Lindsey
"We're waiting," Spike said, glancing at Dean. "We need him to tell us the code to unwipe Faith."
Gunn shrugged. "Apparently, as hard as it is to believe, Spike's torture just knocked him unconscious, rather than force him to spill."
"Hey," Spike defended. "I hadn't had a good spot of torture in months. Got excited."
"Lorne?" Angel glanced at the Anagogic demon. "You good?"
Lorne nodded, taking a step towards the cage. "Hey there pumpkin."
Lindsey groaned, holding his head.
Dean
"And how do you plan to make him tell you? The guy's a smartass with no connection between brain and mouth," Dean pointed out.
Angel, Lindsey, Spike, Faith and Lorne
"He'll tell us," Angel replied.
"Sure, I will," Lindsey spat a mouthful of blood onto the ground. "All you have to do is say 'Faith, come back!'"
Spike girnned unpleasantly. "Come on, Lindsey boy. Say it. With a song in your heart."
Lindsey laughed, coming up against the side of the cage, grinning at the occupants in the room. "She seems happy this way. Don't you, November?"
Faith turned her head away in confusion.
Lorne reached through the bars and grabbed Lindsey's shirt collar. "Here's the thing, cowboy, you're going to sing for me and I'm going to read you right now."
Lindsey chuckled. "Am I?"
"Maybe I didn't make myself clear," Lorne continued, knocking Lindsey's head against the bars. "Here's the other thing... Faith once told after a sinful amount of Chinese food that she wished she could be green with me, if only to share the burden. So you're going to sing. And if I hear one note - one quarter note - that tells me you made this permanent, well, then those guys won't even have a chance to kill you."
He paused.
"Oh and anything by Diana Warren will also result in your death. Except maybe Rhythm of the Night."
Lindsey took a deep breath. "She's as pretty as a picture, she is like a golden ring..."
Dean
"So what?" Dean demanded after only two lines.
Lorne and Faith
Lorne dropped his hold on Lindsey, and walked over to Faith.
She smiled at him. "Hello."
"Hi sweetcheeks," he replied quietly. "May I?"
She nodded, letting him lean into her side.
"There are three flowers in a vase," he whispered. "The third flower is green."
Faith tilted her head slightly, then glanced at how close Lorne was.
"Hey Lorne, you going to make this worth my while?"
"Sing something for me, honey," he said.
"O...k," Faith shrugged. "And I'm running to him, when the sun goes the down..."
Lorne beamed.
Sam
"Are we ok?" Sam asked hopefully, snaking his hands around her stomach for a number of reasons.
Lorne, Spike and Angel
"We're good," Lorne replied.
"Alright," Spike grinned, rubbing his hands. "Let's make with the killing."
"You're not doing it," Angel told him.
"Why can't I do it?" he whined.
Dean
"Because we should," Dean said sternly, stepping forward.
"Or at least give Faith the option, he screwed with her the most."
Angel, Spike and Faith
"He sent me to Hell," Angel countered.
"He pretended to be a messenger from the Powers that Be!" Spike argued. "And fooled me into... into being you, Peaches. I deserve it."
"Faith?" Angel asked.
Faith shook her head. "No. I think... I think it would set me back."
Dean & Sam
"That's fine," Dean assured her.
"And I'm sorry, but he tried to drain my blood in order to become some kind of mega-demon," Sam shrugged, "so prowess isn't going to count here, he's been a pain in all of our asses."
"Especially mine," Dean chimed in.
Angel, Lorne, Lindsey and Faith
"Listen, Lindsey and I have had - " Angel started.
Three loud gunshots interrupted the vampire, and he turned to see what had happened.
Lorne held the gun out, his face impassive, and Lindsey clutched at his chest.
"No," Lindsey groaned. "You're not meant... a flunky? A flunky killed me?"
He slumped over to the ground.
Faith stared in shock.
Sam & Dean
Sam stared, along with Faith.
"Well that solves that problem," Dean shrugged.
He gave Sam a pat on the shoulder.
"Let's go," he said, walking out.
Sam glanced after him, still a bit shocked and not processing what had actually happened.
Lorne, Angel and Faith
"You're not the only one who cares about her," Lorne said in response to the looks he received from Gunn, Angel and Spike. He tossed the gun down and then left, swiftly.
"You ok?" Angel asked Faith.
"Yeah," she replied, slightly shellshocked. "Uh... I'll call you later."
Sam
"Come on," Sam took her hand in his again and began leading her out.
Faith
Faith let Sam lead her out numbly.
"Ok."
