Faith pulled a jacket on as she glanced at the clock.
"Hey, Sam? Teleporter will be here in a sec."
Sam
"Ok!" Sam called from the bathroom, before walking out as he pulled a shirt on.
He went to his bag and threw a few last minute things together.
Faith
"Also, it should be a crime for you to wear a shirt," Faith commented, hitching her bag on her shoulder.
She went to the door as there was a knock, opening it to see the teleporter from Wolfram and Hart.
"Hey Barney," she greeted, and the pair bumped fists.
"You guys ready?" he asked.
Sam
"Sure are," Sam replied, hefting both his and Faith's bags onto his shoulder without bothering to do his shirt up.
He made his way over after quickly checking that only Dean's stuff was left in the room.
Faith, Gunn, Spike and Angel
The teleporter put his one hand on Faith and the other on Sam, then in an instant, they were in the lobby of Wolfram and Hart.
"Thanks," Faith nodded.
"No worries," he replied, shimmering out again.
"Hey hey!" Gunn greeted, jumping down the last few stairs, Spike and Angel right behind him. "If it isn't my favourite girl."
"Awww," Faith teased. "What about Lisa?"
"Well, you helped me get Lisa, so you outrank in some ways."
Sam
Sam looked between Faith and Gunn before nodding a silent greeting to Angel as he hefted the bags a little higher.
Spike, Angel, Faith and Gunn
"Oh Jesus," Spike chuckled. "He's carrying the bags. Bellhop."
The bleached blonde vampire made the whipping noise.
Angel glanced at him. "Spike, don't you have somewhere to be?"
"Nope, Peaches, nothing to do."
"Find something."
Faith nodded at Angel. "Hey."
"What brings you guys here?" Gunn asked.
Sam
"A social visit as far as I'm aware," Sam's eyebrows rose as he looked at Faith.
Faith, Angel and Spike
"Yeah, checking in with Team Angel," Faith nodded.
"You guys want to go to the roof?" Angel said, indicating the lift.
"Oooh, Pip is being invited to the sacred roof," Spike smirked. "Only the Rogue and Peaches are allowed up there. Guess you're in now, Pip. That's what happens when you get chained to the Rogue."
Faith grinned, remembering the other week when she had chained Sam up.
Spike caught the smile and his eyes widened.
"Bloody hell!"
Sam
Sam looked between them, his face flushing red a little.
"Sure," he nodded, agreeing more to get the three of them away from the others.
Angel, Faith, Spike and Gunn
"I put chairs up there," Angel said, leading them over to the elevator.
"Without my input?" Faith joked.
"They're comfortable," he replied, shrugging. "It's about time we stopped sitting on the ground. Also, the flowers died. But the lights are still up."
"You know that you're a girl, right?"
Spike was about to make a comment, when Gunn dragged him away. <>The elevator opened and Angel let Sam and Faith go first.
Sam
Sam stepped in first so he could take the back, dumping their bags in the corner so he didn't have to carry them up.
Faith and Angel
Faith went in after Sam, leaning against him as Anel stepped into the elevator and pressed the button for the roof.
"So, Spike is still annoying," Faith commented.
"I don't know if that will ever change, actually," Angel replied.
Sam
Sam stood behind them in silence, wondering how long the ride to the roof took exactly.
Angel and Faith
"By the way," Angel said offhandedly, as the elevator stopped at the roof. "You need to shower alone to get that smell off you."
Faith chuckled, and let Angel leave first, following him out to th roof.
Sam
Sam frowned at Faith, slightly confused, but grabbed their bags and followed them out.
Faith and Angel
Faith raised her eyes at the sun chairs that sat on the roof.
"You're kidding, yeah?" she said, indicating them. "What, you want to get a moon tan?"
"Shut up," Angel replied. "Short notice, ok? I'll get couches, later."
He indicated for them to sit, and Faith waited until Sam selected one so she could sit with him.
Sam
Sam dumped the bags behind one of the chairs and practically fell into it. Seeing Faith beside him, he pulled her into his lap and kept his hands around her waist.
Angel and Faith
Angel tried to stop the amused smile from spreading across his face. "So... this is new."
He indicated the two of them.
Faith gave him a confused look. "You know we've been together for nearly two years, right?"
"I know," Angel smiled. "But you weren't nearly as affectionate last time I saw you."
Sam
"We weren't?" Sam looked up at Faith.
Angel and Faith
"Uh, no," Angel told him. "I mean, you were particularly hands on, because Faith had just survived the drowning... but you were able to go at least five minutes without touching in some way."
Faith grinned and leaned back against Sam comfortably.
"Freaks you out, doesn't it?" she teased the vampire.
"No," he answered with a slight smile. "But it probably will take a bit of getting used to. You've never really... well firstly, no one else has made it this long - "
"Hey... oh no, that's probably right."
Sam
"So I've been told," Sam mused, looking up at her.
Faith and Angel
"Yeah, yeah, Faith has committment issues and Daddy issues. We know this," Faith said, waving her hand.
Angel smirked. "Anyway... Sam, I was hoping to ask you about the brainwashing incident? Daddy issues over there wasn't too clear on it."
Sam
Sam sighed with a shrug.
"I can't really tell you too much more than she could, but I know that Lindsay was involved," he insisted.
"We tried a couple of times to get her back, and we were ten steps behind him the entire time. When we finally caught up to him in the end, he returned her to us in an almost vegetative state. No offence."
Faith and Angel
Faith shrugged. "Well, I don't remember it, so none taken."
Angel nodded. "I'm sending people out to look for him. He has knowledge from his time here that is dangerous."
Sam
"For what it's worth," Sam said seriously to Angel, "I'm sorry I didn't kill him when we had the chance."
Angel and Faith
"No, no," Angel said, shaking his head. "I should've killed him when he attacked you."
Faith looked between them with eyebrows raised.
"Not to interrupt this touching moment, but... do you guys need to hug it out?"
Sam
Sam gently whacked her on the head.
"Dean got to torture him a little when we were trying to find out where Faith was," Sam went on, "but we set him loose with a deadline on when to return her. And a couple of days later the Faith you see before you is who we got back on our doorstep. By then Lindsa was long gone."
Faith and Angel
Faith grinned and rubbed her head.
Angel nodded. "Well, we'll track him down."
Sam
"I hope so," Sam said, taking a deep breath.
"If you find him first, be sure to let us know."
Angel and Faith
Angel nodded. "Will do."
There was an awkward pause and Faith grinned.
"So... anyway."
She pulled her phone out as it vibrated.
"Gunn wants to see me. I'll be back in a sec."
Sam
Sam patted her stomach before letting her up.
"Don't take too long," he insisted, trying not to sound wary.
Faith and Angel
Faith nodded, getting up from Sam's lap. She pressed a quick kiss to his forehead.
"I won't."
She got up and headed for the lift, disappearing seconds later.
"So," Angel mused. "You don't like me do you."
Sam
Sam looked at him sideways.
"There's a lot of people I don't trust these days," he defended.
Angel
"Yeah, but you don't trust me for a different reason," Angel commented.
He leaned back in his seat.
"You know that you have nothing to worry about, right?"
Sam
"I have a lot to worry about," Sam insisted.
"But the majority of that has nothing to do with you."
Angel
"Faith said she feels like you don't feel comfortable with us seeing each other," Angel said quietly.
He shrugged.
Sam
"I'm fine with flying visits to see you, really," Sam assured.
"It's the sudden drop-everything-go-now attitude when we're in the middle of a case that I don't approve of."
Angel
Angel nodded.
"I think it's more habit than anything," he said. "Because for so long... that was what we did."
Sam
"I gathered," Sam nodded.
"But it doesn't change the fact."
Angel
"I can talk to her about it, if you like?" Angel asked.
Sam
"Honestly? I don't think it will make much of a difference," Sam shrugged.
Angel
"She's stubborn, I'll give you that," Angel nodded.
Sam
"One of her worst and best qualities," Sam mused a little, intertwining his fingers.
Angel
Angel smiled faintly.
"It's all up and up?"
Sam
Sam held himself back from saying anything dirty in present company.
"In a way," he shrugged.
Angel
Angel raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Well, I can smell one way."
Sam
Sam chuckled a little.
"I guess censorship is out of the question then."
Angel
Angel grinned.
"A little, yeah. But, she looks happy."
Sam
"I hope she is," Sam sighed contentedly.
"She's the only thing keeping me sane these days."
Angel
"I think she is," Angel reassured him.
"I've never seen her like this before."
Sam
"Glad to be of service," Sam said thoughtfully, looking out at the view.
Faith and Angel
"So, remind me why we haven't killed Spike?" Faith asked, appearing from the elevator doors and crossing the roof to the other two.
"What did he do this time?" Angel asked, glancing up.
"Oh, the usual. I think you may need to get someone in to clean he carpets though. He left some blood there," she commented, perching back down on Sam's lap.
She grinned faintly, looking between the two.
"So, how did my favourite boys get on?"
Sam
"Fine," Sam shrugged innocently, before pulling her down to kiss her cheek.
"What did Gunn want?"
Faith and Angel
"New robot," Faith said, leaning back into him. "He wanted to show me."
"I think you're possibly the only one who cares about those things," Angel nodded.
"Robots are awesome," she replied, turning her head to kiss Sam on the cheek. "So, what's it like being back in the saddle?"
Angel shrugged. "They had it fairly under control while I was incapacitated."
"Do we know who sent you?"
"At a guess? We're thinking Lindsey," Angel replied. "But, there are a few people who aren't my biggest fans."
Sam
"What actually happened?" Sam asked Angel.
Angel and Faith
"Went to Hell," Angel said. "Or at least, one of the dimensions. Wasn't... pleasant."
"Didn't think it was," Faith replied. "Especially not if I recall my own time downstairs."
Sam
"I mean what happened there?" Sam corrected himself.
Angel and Faith
"Years of torture," Angel shrugged. "Usual deal with Hell dimensions."
"Yeah, it's funner than it sounds," Faith comented offhandedly. "No wonder you came back crazy."
"You came back slightly catatonic, if I recall," Angel pointed out.
"I already have mental problems, we knew this before."
Sam
Sam mentally compared it with Dean's story, and the results were more than unsettling. But he kept a straight face.
"And yet I still love you just the way you are," he teased Faith, squeezing her a little.
Angel and Faith
Angel smirked slightly.
Faith grinned and leaned back into Sam. "I know. I think I'm more interesting all dark and twisty."
"Is that what we're calling your issues these days?" Angel teased. "I wouldn't call you that lately. Not with the way you two are behaving."
Sam
Sam just smiled, knowingly. Not willing to say anything to the contrary.
Faith and Angel
"So, on the topic of sex," Faith said, grinning faintly. "What's the deal with you and Cordy?"
"Sex? What?" Angel asked. "Nothing. Well, nothing involving sex, anyway. We're still... working on getting back to where we were."
"Then you guys have to find a way around the sex thing," she nodded. "Personally, I'd risk it. But then, I am apparently, a sex fiend."
Sam
"Kitten," Sam corrected, placidly.
Angel and Faith
"I'll hazard a guess that you're the fiend, Sam?" Angel raised his eyebrows.
Faith snickered. "How'd you guess?"
"Well, the smell does give it away."
Sam
"Heh," Sam rolled his eyes, but his face flushed red and he started tapping his heel.
Faith and Angel
"So, is Serafina still MIA?" Faith asked, leaning back against Sam.
Angel nodded. "She's been in contact though. I think she'll be back a bit later this month. How's Tru?"
"Sick," Faith said, making a face. "Or getting better, rather. She managed to come down with the Slayer virus, and I'm not sure how much it will affect her, considering she only has the abilities because of me, but Liam's keeping an eye on her."
"Giles is going to close the school down," Angel informed her. "There doesn't seem to be much of a point, what with the way this virus is spreading. He and Andrew have talked about setting up a new Watcher's Council in London. To focus on the girls that they have left and to... revive the original mission statement, I think."
"He has mentioned that to me," she mused. "But I think he's hesitant to ask me to get involved, as he knows I'm not too keen on London. Even for a short visit."
Sam
"And I'm not too keen on her going to London. Even for a short visit," Sam mimicked teasingly.
Faith and Angel
"Oh really?" Faith grinned, turning slightly to look at Sam. "And what if I went anyway?"
Angel snorted and the Slayer turned back to look at him.
"What?"
"Sorry Faith, you used to be all 'I do what I want', but ever since Sam entered the picture, you're as whipped as they come."
Sam
"She still gets away from me from time to time," Sam assured, hugging her a little tighter.
Faith and Angel
"Hey, is there food downstairs still?" Faith asked suddenly.
"Yeah," Angel replied. "Are you hungry?"
"Pretty much, yeah," she nodded. "Sam? Hungry?"
Sam
"I could go for food," Sam nodded, considering.
Angel and Faith
Angel stood up, and Faith followed suit, reaching for Sam's hand before doing anything else.
"Sickening," Angel teased.
Sam
Sam took her hand and stood, smirking a little as he slipped an arm around her waist.
Faith and Angel
"Hey, is Ben still head chef here?" Faith asked, as they crossed the roof to the elevator.
"Didn't Gunn tell you?" Angel replied, shaking his head.
"Tell me what?"
"Ben quit," he continued. "Said he couldn't handle his lack of recognition here."
"But... Gunn and I loved him," Faith protested.
Angel chuckled, pressing the button for the cafeteria level. "Yeah, Gunn stayed in his office for a whole day. It was the sulking session of a lifetime."
Sam
"So the food won't be as good as Faith remembers?" Sam teased her.
Faith and Angel
"Probably not," Faith pouted. "Well, it's lucky I don't live here anymore."
Angel chuckled. "Gunn did say that he knew you would understand."
"I do," she replied seriously. "Ben was the greatest."
Sam
"Will we need a moment of silence to commemorate his 'moving on'?" Sam smirked, sliding his other hand into hers.
Faith and Angel
"I think so," Faith said, nodding.
Angel chuckled. "You and Gunn have problems."
"Hey," she retorted. "That food changed my life. Why do you think I lived here for so long?"
Sam
"The food," Sam said with a nod.
Angel and Faith
"I'm so wounded," Angel grinned.
"You're ok," Faith shrugged. "But the food was pretty amazing."
Sam
"I'm sorry I missed out," Sam mused.
Faith and Angel
"You should be," Faith nodded.
The doors of the elevator opened and she followed Angel out.
"Mmm," she grinned, looking around. "One of my favourite places."
Sam
"Whatever that is, it smells good," Sam assured, letting go of Faith's hand but keeping his arm around her.
Faith and Angel
Faith nodded, glancing around.
"I might leave you kids to it," Angel commented.
Sam
"Good to see you," Sam nodded to him.
Angel and Faith
"You too," Angel smiled.
"Come on," Faith said, grinning up at Sam. "Faith is hungry."
