Priestly stacked the plates onto the tray, then stooped slightly to wipe the table clean. He turned and went back to the kitchen, loading his plates into the dishwasher, and then coming back out, wiping his hands on his apron.
He glanced up at the door as the bell atop it rang out, and the new arrivals went to seat themselves at a booth.
With a friendly smile on his face, he waited until they were settled, then went to give them some menus.
"Here you go, guys," Priestly greeted, setting the menus on the table. "Just give me a yell when you're ready to order."
Faith nodded, barely glancing at him.
Dean & Sam
"Awesome," Dean nodded, not even looking up before grabbing a menu.
"So what do you guys think?" Sam asked, tucking his notebook back into his jacket pocket, "should we head for Datona and check it out?"
Priestly and Faith
Priestly stepped away from the table, his smile fading as soon as his back was turned.
So, those were his enemies.
Faith shrugged, flipping through the menu. "Yeah, I'm down."
Dean & Sam
"I'm cool, what is it again?" Dean shrugged.
"Poltergeist I think. Maybe just a haunting," Sam didn't sound sure, "the reports are a little sketchy."
"Great. So it could be nothing."
Faith and Priestly
"I'm sure we can find something to occupy our time with, if it does turn out to be nothing," Faith said, leaning back against the seat.
She closed her menu decisively.
"You guys ready to order?" Priestly asked, appearing by their table with a notepad and a pen.
Dean & Sam
"By all means ladies first, but I'll have the special with side of sausage and a large soda," Dean mused.
"Ha ha," Sam scorned, before indicating for Faith to order.
Faith and Priestly
Faith smirked and then glanced up at Priestly. The two of them locked eyes for a long moment.
"Uh..." she shook her head slightly. "I'll have the special and a mineral water."
Priestly nodded, a little shaken by what had just happened. "Sure sure, and you, sir?"
Sam & Dean
"Ah... I'll have the roast, thanks. With water."
Sam glanced up at the waiter, pausing for a second, before gathering the menus and handing them back to him.
Dean frowned a little as he noticed the exchanges.
Priestly and Faith
Priestly took the menus with a forced smile, then turned around and went to put the orders into the kitchen.
Ok... that was weird. And why were these people so dangerous to him and his father anyway?
Faith tucked some hair behind her ear, and watched Priestly for a moment.
Sam
Sam frowned, then turned to Faith.
"That was weird, right?" he asked quietly.
Faith
"Yeah," Faith nodded.
"That was definitely weird. What do you think his deal is?"
Dean & Sam
"What happened?" Dean asked, clueless.
Sam glanced at him, and shrugged.
"I don't know. He just seemed... familiar somehow."
Priestly and Faith
Priestly walked back over, balancing a tray with their drinks on it. He set the drinks down in front of their respective owners.
"Here you go guys, food won't be long."
His eyes locked with Sam's this time.
Faith shivered slightly.
Sam & Dean
Sam held his gaze, before nodding with a forced smile and taking his drink.
Dean watched on, suspiciously.
Priestly and Faith
Priestly quickly walked back to the kitchen, and breathed heavily.
Why was this difficult? They were the enemy. Dad had said so. He didn't have to dispose of them now. This was just for him to become acquainted with them.
Faith reached for Sam's hand, almost instinctively.
"So, when are we leaving town then?"
Sam & Dean
"First thing tomorrow," Sam took her hand and squeezed it.
"Knowing Sam, probably around six or 7am," Dean groaned.
Faith and Priestly
Faith grinned. "He lives to torture you."
Priestly pulled himself together as the chef put the food on the counter, indicating it was ready to go out.
He took a deep breath and balanced the plates on his arms before coming back over to the table.
Dean & Sam
"What else are little brothers for but to be a pain in the ass?" Dean smirked.
"Nice. Thanks," Sam mused.
Dean looked up as the food came, and licked his lips as a natural reaction.
Faith and Priestly
Faith grinned at Sam, and squeezed his hand.
"You're also good for eye candy," she told him.
"Special, side of sausage," Priestly said, putting it down in front of Dean. "And the other special, and the roast."
He set the plates down in front of Faith and Sam.
"Let me know if you need anything else. Enjoy."
He turned to leave again.
Sam & Dean
Sam watched after him as Dean got stuck in.
"This is driving me insane," he chuckled nervously, turning back to Faith, "he doesn't look FBI, right?"
Faith
"Nah," Faith said. "Looks too young. Little green."
She picked up her fork.
"Maybe we've run into him at some point?"
Dean & Sam
"No, I'd remember him," Dean insisted, shaking his head.
"Are you sure?" Sam asked.
"Positive."
Faith
"Well then, I don't know," Faith shrugged.
"It's weird though. Right? I mean, I'm not alone in that."
Sam & Dean
"Definitely not," Sam agreed.
"He does look a bit like you. Maybe he's a cousin you never met or something?" Dean suggested.
"But then why would I feel it?" Sam shook his head.
"You're the psychic, you tell me."
Faith
"Because we're one of mind," Faith joked.
She thought about what Dean suggested.
"I guess it's entirely possible. It's even possible that my SD has fathered lots of kids all over the country. So maybe it's another half sibling."
Dean & Sam
"True that," Dean shrugged, getting back to his food.
"He's a lot taller than you though," Sam pointed out, "unless it's the mother's side."
Faith and Priestly
"The SD is pretty tall," Faith told Sam. "The other two kids that I met were fairly tall. I think I got my mom's height."
She shrugged faintly.
Priestly watched them discreetly, while he worked around the diner.
Dean & Sam
"Unless you plan on asking him if his Dad may as well have been in a bottle, you're welcome to stop talking about anytime," Dean pointed out.
Sam looked at him scornfully.
Faith and Priestly
"Maybe I will."
Faith got up from her seat and went over to the counter, where Priestly was brewing another pot of coffee.
Dean & Sam
"No way," Dean watched after her, Sam looking over his shoulder.
"Yes way," Sam's eyebrows rose.
Priestly and Faith
"Uh, hi," Priestly said, looking up from the coffee pot. "Is everything ok with the meals?"
"Everything's fine," Faith said, waving her hand dismissively. "It's just been kinda bugging us because you look a little familiar."
Priestly paused before answering. "Oh? Well... I don't know you guys, I don't think."
"This may sound weird, but who's your Dad?" she asked.
Don't ever tell anyone who your father is echoed through his brain.
Priestly shrugged awkwardly.
"Don't know," he lied. "He ran out on my mom before I was born. She doesn't like to talk about him."
Faith nodded. "K. Well, sorry to bring it up then."
She turned and went back to the table, not satisfied with his story, but willing to let it slide for now.
Sam
"So?" Sam asked as she returned.
Faith
"I don't think we have the same father," Faith said.
"Though, he is lying about something. Granted, I'd probably lie to a stranger too."
Sam & Dean
"Mother?" Sam asked, "or maybe Dean's right, and it's distant relation."
"You just too similar for it to be too distant," Dean pointed out.
Faith
Faith shook her head.
"Mom was too busy with the drinking and passing out parts of life to have another kid. Plus, I was there, I would've noticed."
Sam & Dean
"True," Sam shrugged.
"Yeah, and he does look kinda young," Dean added. <>
Faith
"Maybe it's a freak thing," Faith said. "I mean, we're not identical, just some of our features are similar."
Sam
"Yeah, maybe that's what put me off guard," Sam shrugged, unsure.
Faith
"Attracted to him?" Faith teased.
She nudged him jokingly.
Dean & Sam
"She's looking for a threesome, evidently," Dean smirked.
"Gross," Sam frowned, finally starting in on his food.
Faith and Priestly
Faith grinned. "Nah, not in the mood for a spitroast."
She returned her attention back to her food.
Meanwhile, Priestly slipped out to call his father and update him.
