Faith sat on the edge of the bed, watching Sam quietly for a long moment, before letting her hair out of the bun she'd wrapped it in. She shook the brunette locks out, down over her shoulders, before reaching down to unlace her shoes.
"So..." she said softly.
Sam
Sam's eyes darted, not having thought how awkward it would be to be alone with her after the past week.
"So?" he asked, glancing at her before redirecting his line of sight as he picked at the bandage.
Faith
Faith sighed softly, still looking down at her feet.
"Do you really not get it?"
Sam
"Not get what?" Sam asked slowly.
Faith
Faith turned and looked at him for a moment.
"That it's you," she said simply. "Not Dean. It's you."
Sam
Sam sighed, shaking his head.
"No I do, really," he assured half heartedly.
"I just... it feels as though someone's been messing with my head. Into thinking things that aren't true. And there's only one person that's been doing that of late..."
Faith
Faith brushed some hair from her eyes as she watched him thoughtfully.
"Maybe, but they wouldn't be able to believe it if a part of you didn't already believe it."
Sam
"I know," Sam nodded, apologetically.
"And it's just always a fear I'm going to have. I'm sorry."
Faith
Faith moved over so she was sitting beside him.
"It's ok. I get why you'd be... I mean... Dean and I have a history. Which is in the past. Well, most history is, but you know what I mean."
Sam
"Yeah I do," Sam said softly, smiling for a split second before returning his eyes to the bedspread.
Faith
Faith sighed, glancing at him.
"Look, with Dean it was just about sex. It was about feeling good at the moment. We didn't care about each other, sometimes we probably didn't even really like each other. It was just a mutual use and abuse."
Sam
"I know that too," Sam nodded.
Faith
"But with you, it was different."
Faith tapped on the bedspread, absently.
"With you it was about more. More than the sex. Not that the sex isn't awesome, by the way, props to you, but it just... it was just the icing on an already really good cake."
Sam
Sam tilted his head, looking at her coyly.
"Gee thanks," he smirked.
Faith
"The point is," Faith said, shaking her head at him, though a smile was spreading across her lips.
"That I wouldn't go back to just sex with Dean. Not when I get all the good stuff with you. So yeah, we kissed. But it didn't mean anything at all. It was just nothing."
Sam
"Then why did it happen?" Sam asked seriously, resisting the urge to scratch at his stitches.
Faith
"I don't know," Faith replied honestly. "All of a sudden, he was kissing me. I'm not sure why, considering we were talking about you at the time."
She shrugged.
"I pushed him away when I realised what was actually happening."
Sam
"I guess it's Dean I should be talking to then," Sam shrugged.
"Not that I'll hold my breath or anything."
Faith
"Look," Faith said, moving over and straddling his lap.
"I like you. A lot. And I'm sorry it happened, I really am."
Sam
"I know that," Sam said sincerely, using his mobile arm to run his fingers through her hair.
"It's just... I have this image stuck in my head, and as hard as I try it isn't going anywhere."
Faith
"I know," Faith said softly, before leaning down and kissing his forehead.
"And if I'd been in your situation... well, we'd have had a few more problems if you'd been kissing your brother. Well, not problems really..."
Sam
"Oh ha ha," Sam said dryly.
"I'm sure you wouldn't have minded at all."
Faith
Faith grinned.
"So, what's the deal. You and me. You still like me?"
Sam
"Of course I like you, I love you supid," Sam scoffed, tapping her on the head.
Faith
"Wow, what sweet talk. Do me now," Faith grinned.
She leaned in and kissed him softly.
Sam
"Not so fast," Sam insisted, his right hand on her chest.
"Remember the hospital thing? With the stitches and the blood and the wheelchair and the 'taking it easy'? Those rules still gel."
Faith
Faith glanced down at his hand, smirking slightly.
"Well, just to remind you, the stitches are gone now. But if you want to be all no-touchies, then fine. But Sam? Spooning. It's been too long and I can't sleep without your stupid face right beside mine."
Sam
"Now that I can oblige you for," Sam grinned.
He gave her a short peck on the lips.
"As long as my arm doesn't move too much. Because... blood, stitches, you know the drill. Minus the wheelchair part."
Faith
"You could be little spoon," Faith teased.
She leant her forehead against his.
"Thanks for taking the bullet, by the way."
Sam
Sam closed his eyes, feeling her breath on his face.
"Better my arm than your forehead," he pointed out.
Faith
"Still... some people wouldn't bother."
Faith kissed his nose softly.
Sam
"Like I said. I love you, stupid," Sam grinned.
Faith
Faith laughed.
"Aww, I love you too, loserface."
Sam
Sam leant in to kiss her passionately, awkwardly holding her with just his right arm.
Faith
Faith grinned as they pulled away from each other, gasping for air.
"Well, glad that's back on the menu. Was starting to miss that."
Sam
"Among other things," Sam grunted, turned on but not willing to go back on his words.
He kissed her again.
Faith
Faith kissed him back, running a hand through his hair.
"You know," she said cheekily, glancing down. "I can help you with that."
Sam
"You don't have to," Sam opened his eyes, flinching for a moment as his bandage hit the bedhead.
Faith
"Sorta do, Sammich. It's in the job description."
Faith grinned, leaning in to kiss him while her other hand moved downwards.
Sam
"Really," Sam breathed between kisses, "you don't have- Oh God!"
Faith
Faith grinned at his reaction, nipping at his lips gently, her hand never pausing in her movements.
"Well, if you want me to stop..."
Sam
Sam groaned appreciatively, his hand holding her hair as his head tilted back.
Faith
Faith giggled at his reaction, moving her head slightly to kiss his neck.
She moved her other hand down.
Sam
"Oh Faith..." Sam groaned, closing is eyes for a moment as his mouth hung open.
His left hand struggled to find somewhere to sit as his right gripped her hair tighter between its fingers.
Faith
Faith licked at his neck, before sucking down hard on a patch of skin.
Her hands kept up steady movements, quickening when she sensed he needed that.
Sam
Sam turned his head to the side to make it easier for her, fighting to stay sitting up so his left arm wouldn't touch the bed.
Faith
Faith lifted her head again to kiss him, hands speeding up slightly.
She dominated the kiss for a few seconds, then let him take over.
Sam
Sam used his grip on her hair to pull her head down so he was leaning over it to kiss her. He was now completely curled around her body, his spine jutting angrily from the skin on his back.
Faith
Faith's back arched in a way that would be painful for most people had she not been so flexible.
She squeezed gently, hands twisting and sliding in an almost artistic way.
Sam
"You're an angel," Sam breathed onto her neck, as he leant in to give her a love bite of her own.
Faith
Faith grinned and tilted her head a little further back.
"Oh, I know."
Her hands kept moving, almost instinctively knowing how fast or slow Sam wanted it.
Sam
Sam groaned into the lovebite, his pelvis thrusting sorely.
He held Faith tight in his arm for a good further moment, until suddenly they head the latch on the door unlocking...
Faith
Faith's head turned towards the door, and lifting one hand away, she grabbed the spare pillow from the bed and threw it at Dean's face as it appeared.
Dean & Sam
"What the hell-"
"Oh God!" Sam exclaimed, instantly grabbing the pillow he'd been sitting on and covering himself with it.
Dean had caught the pillow and thrown it back before he even realised what was going on.
"...Wow. Awkward."
Faith
Faith pulled her hand out from under the pillow Sam was using to cover himself, catching the other pillow easily.
"Great timing, Dean."
Dean & Sam
"I'll say!"
"Dean-" Sam couldn't form the words, his face blushing furiously.
"I didn't think I could do worse than walking in on Sam watching porn..."
Faith
Faith tried not to laugh, and she bit the insides of her cheeks to stop herself.
"Maybe you could leave again?" she suggested.
Dean & Sam
Dean hesitated dramatically, enjoying watching his younger brother squirm, then nodded.
"Ok. One minute. Then I'm bringing in the camera," he closed the door behind him on his way out.
Sam looked at Faith.
Faith
Faith chuckled and brushed her lips against Sam's, moving her hands under the pillow again.
"Or we can go lock ourselves in the bathroom," she said softly.
Sam
"I wouldn't want to risk it. He might break the door down," Sam shifted back a little, slipping off the side of the bed.
"Besides... we made a bit of a mess."
He quickly went to fetch the plastic wrap and some clean clothes.
Faith
Faith grinned. "Well actually, you made a bit of a mess. I'm innocent."
She slipped off the bed and went into the bathroom to wash her hands.
"Do you need help wrapping your arm?"
Sam
"Yeah, please," Sam nodded, bringing his things into the bathroom with her.
"I might be right handed but it's still awkward."
Faith
"Yeah, no problem."
Faith dried her hands off on a towel and then turned to Sam, taking the plastic from him.
"Alright, you ready?"
Sam
Sam hesitated as he heard the door opening again.
"Yeah, ready," he nodded, leaning against the shower so his arm was horizontal.
Faith
Faith kicked the bathroom door closed completely, and moved over to Sam with the plastic.
She unwrapped some and carefully set it over Sam's arm.
Sam
"Thanks," Sam said again, looking her in the eye.
"For um... you know."
Faith
Faith pecked his lips lightly.
"Anytime."
She turned to leave the bathroom, then looked at the knees of her pants, smirked, and took them off, grabbing another towel to wrap around her waist.
Sam & Dean
"I mean for not giving up on me, outright," Sam amended.
"But, thanks for that too."
The bathroom door banged open suddenly, and there stood Dean with his (or rather, Faith's) video camera in hand.
"Damnit!" he cursed, realising nothing was happening.
"And... gross."
He looked Sam up and down.
Faith
"Hey!" Faith said, grabbing the camera with one hand, using the other to slap Dean over the back of the head in one fluid motion.
"That's mine."
Dean & Sam
"Ow!" Dean ducked, too late.
"You never use it! I'm just making sure it doesn't get dust!"
"Do you guys mind? Trying to have a shower," Sam insisted, waiting to take his pants off.
"Yeah, like neither one of us have seen what's under there."
Sam stared at his brother, then undid his jeans and dropped them.
"EW!" Dean recoiled, immediately exiting the bathroom.
"That's NASTY dude!"
Faith
Faith laughed, eyes automatically doing a sweep of Sam's body. She reached up and kissed his cheek.
"Also," she said, about to leave. "About what you said before... I can't give up on you outright. You're sorta stuck with me, buddy."
She left the bathroom, chuckling again when she saw Dean's expression.
Sam & Dean
Sam shook his head, then finished getting undressed and got in the shower.
"I told you it was an art form, didn't I?" Dean attempted a joke to cover the awkwarness of the situation.
Faith
Faith went over to the cupboard to get a new pillow, considering the other was slightly dirty.
"You did indeed," she said, still trying not to laugh.
Dean
Dean took a deep breath, then grabbed the camera from where she'd put it.
"Let's see what my baby got," he grinned, turnin it on and rewinding the DVD.
Faith
"Ok, firstly, that's mine," Faith pointed out.
"And secondly, why would you want what you just witnessed on tape?"
Dean
"Who sas that's what I'm talking about?" Dean smirked, some obvious loud moaning suddenly coming from the camera as it played.
Faith
Faith made a face, hearing what was coming out of the camera speakers.
"You know what? Keep that. I'll get another."
She paused.
"You and Sam kissed and made up?"
Dean
"From what?" Dean asked between grins, nodding his head as he watched the show.
He pulled a face as the sound of something fallng and breaking came through.
Faith
"The 'I wasn't screwing Faith' argument?" Faith suggested.
She went through her bag for a clean pair of pants.
Dean
"Nope, haven't settled that one yet," Dean was barely paying attention.
He tilted his head to the side a little.
Faith
"Yeah, well get on that," Faith murmured.
She dropped the towel and put her pants on, pretty sure Dean was too distracted to watch her.
Dean
"I think he'd sooner send me back to Hell," Dean looked a little forlorn as the video ended and he closed the camera.
"It happens all the time. We'll just not tell each other everything, and eventually it blows up usually after one of us has been resurrected. So it all works out in the end."
He smiled sarcastically before going to put the camera in his bag.
Faith
"Well, that's all very well and good, but next time? Let's not involve me."
Faith stretched out on the bed, making sure to avoid Sam's side.
Dean
"Ah don't worry," Dean smiled as he settled back on his own bed and took his boots off.
"Seeing as neither of us plan on dying anytime soon, it'll probably never get resolved anyway."
Faith
"Right, well, Dean, you have to at least tell him you're not interested in me."
Faith looked across at him.
"He's worried."
Dean
"Told him. He doesn't believe it. Don't blame him," Dean sighed, laying back on the bed with a groan as he arched his back.
Faith
"You don't blame him?" Faith raised an eyebrow.
"Be more convincing then. It's har - difficult for me."
Dean
"Winchester lore Faith, it ain't gonna happen," Dean shrugged, closing his eyes.
"Just gotta learn to live with it."
Faith
"Great."
Faith rubbed her nose.
"Well... and I know you can't help it, but try not to look down my shirt. In front of him, anyway."
Dean
"Well, there's this slight problem with you being female, so no promises," Dean said honestly.
"But in case you hadn't noticed, I've been trying."
Faith
"I know," Faith said softly.
"It's just... it's hard to convince him otherwise. Especially with our history."
Dean
"Well it's also not as if I've ever been briefed on a way to handle this situation. And I haven't exactly had practise," Dean defended.
Faith
"Yeah, I know," Faith replied, glancing at him.
"I'm trying as well. It's hard to... not fall into old habits, I guess."
Dean
"Nah, you're just hot. And I'm a straight guy with working eyeballs," Dean shrugged.
Faith
"Well, I have been known to turn a few heads. Girls, guys..."
Faith smirked, then glanced towards the bathroom.
"Think he's flying solo again?"
Dean
"I doubt it," Dean couldn't help but chuckle.
"I think he only has the juice to erupt the volcano once a month. You know, like a woman."
Faith
"Well actually," Faith said, shrugging.
"I can go a few times a month."
Dean
"I think you missed my point," Dean said nonchalantly.
Faith
Faith grinned.
"Anyway... maybe I should check to see if he needs help with his arm."
Dean
"Oh I'm sure he does," Dean smirked.
Faith
Faith shook her head as she got up from the bed. She walked over to the bathroom and knocked lightly, before entering.
"Hey," she said. "Need help?"
Sam
"No I'm good," Sam assured, wet hair falling in his face as he pulled the plastic from his arm.
"Just got the bandage a bit wet."
Faith
Faith took a towel and patted Sam's chest gently.
"I can change that in a sec."
Sam
"Thanks," Sam said for the hundredth time.
He used the other end of the towel to dry his hair a bit more.
Faith
Faith reached up and kissed him gently.
"Stop thanking me, loserface."
Sam
"Then stop doing stuff for me, stupid," Sam teased.
