Divorce papers

Written by Michelle

Zac and Julie

"Zac?"

Zac looked up.

"Yeah?"

"Hey umm, you know how I said Bobby would going to be coming over today?"

"Yeah?"

"Could you... could you do me a favour and give these to him for me?" Julie asked nervously, giving him a large enevlope.

Zac's eyes narrowed.

"Are these the divorce papers."

"Umm... yes."

"Julie..."

"I can't face him, Zac. Not... not like this. Not pregnant again."

"He doesn't know?"

"I didn't tell him. I... I'm too afraid to."

"Afraid? Why?"

"I just don't want him to know okay. Just can you? Please?"

Zac sighed.

"Yeah okay."

"Great. I'm going over to Annika's. We have a company meeting."

"Ahh. Strategically scheduled for today, huh?"

"Pretty much."

Zac shook his head and Julie departed.

Bobby

Bobby yawned as he wandered up the stairs to Zac's house, trying to remember why he and Lennon had let the girls come over to start baking yet again. And so early.

He rung the bell, stifling another yawn.

Zac

Zac heard the door bell ring and with a sigh, got up to answer it.

"Hey Bobby," he greeted. "Come on in."

Bobby

"Hey," Bobby said, through another yawn.

"Sorry. How've you been?"

Zac

"Oh not too bad," Zac replied. "Cindy and Dax are in the nusary as usual. Julie's gone out. Business meeting. Late night?"

Bobby

Bobby nodded, and changed his course of direction for the nursary.

"Nah, early morning. My kitchen has become the main workstation for a hippy with a mission to save the world. They're baking muffins or cookies or something."

Zac

"Interesting," Zac replied. "Are they at least good muffins or cookies? Or is that why you don't know which they are?"

He grinned.

Bobby

"They're amazing," Bobby said, grinning. "Their chocolate brownies are the best, but that was last year. I think it was muffins again today. Chocolate chip."

Zac

"Ooooh chocy muffins..." Zac said. "Please excuse me while I drool."

Then he snapped his fingers.

"Darn, I just remembered. Julie left, uhh, something for you down stairs. Umm... I'll go get it and meet you in the nursary."

Bobby

"Mmmkay."

Bobby continued on to the nursary, his face lighting up when he saw his two little girls.

"Hello ladies," he greeted, sinking to his knees a few steps away from them.

Dax and Cindy looked up from their playing and smiled widely.

Zac

"Dada!" Cindy and Dax said together.

Zac trotted back down the staris, retrived the envelope from the coffee table and headed back up again.

How on earth did he let Julie talk him into this?

Bobby

Bobby gathered both of his girls up for a hug, kissing Dax's forehead first, then Cindy's.

"I missed you two!"

Zac

Cindy and Dax hugged Bobby as tightly as their little arms could manage it.

"Outing?" Dax asked hopefully.

Behind them, Zac chuckled softly.

Bobby

"I think I can swing that," Bobby grinned.

He glanced behind him at Zac.

Zac

"Hey umm," Zac said, tentatively holding out the envelope. "Sorry to interupt. Julie was too chicken to give this to you herself, so lucky me gets to be the messanger."

He rolled his eyes.

Bobby

"Judging by your expression, I sense this is not a good thing?"

Bobby took the envelope from him and opened it, pulling out the papers. His face remained stoic and he nodded at Zac.

"Sorry that you had to do this, man."

Zac

Zac shrugged slightly.

"I know she was hoping you two would get back together but... yeah... Anyway. Sorry to spoil your day."

Bobby

"It's ok," Bobby assured him. "Actually, it's probably better that she got the paperwork organised because I think she may have reacted badly if I did it. Also, am bad at organising things."

Zac

Zac chuckled.

"You've probably got the right of it there," he said. "Ahh, well. I'll leave you to your girls then. See you later."

Bobby

"Thanks man."

Bobby returned his attention back to his daughters.

"Alright, lets get you dressed for a day out..."
