Broken!Impala

Written by Nessa and AiMsTeR

Faith

Faith tossed her bag into the car, blinking in the early morning sun.

"What kind of time is six anyway?" she yawned.

Dean & Sam

"It's not even a time, I'm sure of it," Dean grumbled.

"Get over it," Sam smirked, holding the door open for Faith as Dean started the impala.

Faith

Faith got into the car slowly, then waited for Sam to get in beside her so she could sleep on his shoulder.

"How far is this place anyway?"

Sam & Dean

Sam got in after her and closed the door as Dean pulled out.

"We should be there by midnight," Dean replied, looking over his shoulder as he reversed.

Faith

"Oh good, sore ass."

Faith grinned at Sam before leaning into his side.

Dean & Sam

"Including break time," Dean amended.

"You know it's not really a rush job, we could always stop halfway," Sam suggested.

"I'd rather get it over and done with," Dean grumbled.

Faith

"Wait, we're stopping for breakfast, right?" Faith asked, then paused.

"Hold on, of course we are. Dean's driving."

Dean

"You know me too well," Dean grinned.

"Give me a couple of hours. We'll need gas then anyway."

Faith

"I picked up the eating habits after maybe... a month on the road with both of you?" Faith grinned.

She glanced up at Sam and kissed his cheek.

Sam & Dean

"Better than some other habits I could mention," Sam considered.

Suddenly, the impala jolted, and a squealing sound was heard from under the hood.

"What the hell...?" Dean frowned, immediately pulling her off the highway.

He pulled her to a stop and popped the hood.

"What's wrong" Sam frowned.

"I don't know," Dean replied, opening the door and getting out as she continued - barely - running.

Faith

"That didn't sound promising."

Faith rubbed her eyes, watching the action from inside the car.

Dean & Sam

Dean had been behind the hood for some time when they heard him call out.

"Sam?!"

"I've been summoned," he said to Faith, getting out of the car.

He walked around to his brother, cringing a little at the smoke and heat coming from the radiator.

"What is it?" he asked.

"The radiator hose was slit," Dean looked up at Sam from where he leant over, "she dried up. We're not going anywhere dude."

Sam took a deep breath, looking back down the road.

"So we need water? Beause we've got plenty of Holy water-"

"We need something to secure the hose with that won't melt," Dean seethed, "in others words, duct tape ain't gonna do the job."

Faith

Faith eased herself to the door and slowly got out of the car, checking her phone absently.

"No reception," she commented.

Dean & Sam

"Peachy," Dean rolled his eyes.

"Want me to flank down a truck?" Sam suggested.

"No," Dean grunted.

"I've been down this road recently - there's a gas station not too far up ahead. I can walk."

"Are you sure?" Sam frowned.

Faith

Faith looked between them.

"How far?"

Dean

"A few miles, it shouldn't take long," Dean rubbed his hands off on some dirty rags and walked around to pop the trunk.

Faith

Faith looked up at Sam.

"So, are you going with him?"

Sam & Dean

"No, I'll stay," Sam nodded to her.

Dean spent some time putting a bag together - including money, water and food - before closing the trunk and walking around again.

"If either of you somehow work out who did this before I get back, I want to know," Dean pointed into Sam's face, "I'll smite the bastard myself."

Faith

"We'll put our detective hats on," Faith commented.

She went back over to the door, making a move to sit inside the car again.

Sam & Dean

"Don't take your time," Sam insisted.

"I'll hitchhike if I have to," Dean saluted.

He looked over his shoulder as he stepped onto the side of the road. Sam waited until he was few hundred metres up the road, before turning back and getting into the driver's seat.

"Guess we're alone for a while," he sighed.

Faith

"Sound a little more enthused, cutie, or I might start feeling rejected."

Faith leaned back against the seat, closing her eyes.
