Routine Check Up

Written by Nessa and AiMsTeR

Faith and Ty

Addison walked into the room, and she read over the chart for a second before looking up at Faith. She glanced at Sam and nodded a greeting to him.

"Faith," she said, smiling. "How are you feeling?"

Faith shrugged. "Not bad. I'll feel better when I can start walking."

Addison nodded in understanding. "Well, let me check you out and see if I can give you the green light."

She gently helped Faith put her feet into the stirrups.

"Any pain? Discomfort?" the redhead asked.

"A little of both," Faith replied.

"All normal," Addison reassured both Faith and Sam. "Surgery places a lot of stress on a body, especially if there are complications. Your recovery was always going to be a little difficult, though if you followed my orders, it shouldn't've been too bad."

~*~*~*~

Ty watched from outside at the nurses station, careful to not be seen.

Keeping his eyes on the room, he carefully weaved more illusions, so as not one person would have a clue that she was still pregnant.

~*~*~*~

"Well," Addison said, helping Faith put her legs down and lifting the gown a little to see the stitches. "You heal quickly. I can take those out today."

"Oh awesome," Faith grinned. "And I can walk now?"

Addison made a rocking motion with her hand. "Not too much. You won't need the wheelchair, but I do still recommend taking it easy. You're still recovering from an enormous trauma."

She looked up at Sam, smiling warmly.

"I have a feeling it's you who has to stop her from not following my orders." She glanced at Faith. "You strike me as someone who doesn't like to be idle."

"Not really, no. Moving targets are harder to hit," she said lightly.

Addison laughed, not realising how serious her patient was. "Well, Sam, I'm leaving it up to you to keep her relaxed. Make sure she doesn't overdo it."

~*~*~*~

Ty smirked to himself.

If he had it his way, Faith was doing to overdo it a lot. Fighting for her life would probably take quite a lot out of her.

Sam

"Oh I've been laying down the law, that's for sure," Sam mused, looking down at Faith.

"We've had a few... epic battles. Especially when it comes to bathroom time. But my brother's helped as well."

Faith and Ty

"Good to hear," Addison said to Sam, nodding. "Alright then, let's get these stitiches out."

Faith beamed. "Really?"

"Really," the redhead confirmed, snapping on some gloves and moving opening a suture kid. "Although, I still wouldn't run a marathon."

~*~*~*~

Ty smirked slightly, watching from his place outside.

Sam

"I should probably wait outside," Sam said unsurely, stepping back towards the door.

Faith and Ty

"You can stay, if you like," Addison told him, setting the instruments down on a tray.

She pressed gently on Faith's stitches.

~*~*~*~

Ty ducked behind a corner, in case Sam decided to come out.

Sam

"I'd rather let you concentrate in full," Sam insisted with a nod.

He opened the door from behind.

"I'll see you when it's over," he smiled at Faith.

Faith and Ty

"Ok," Faith said.

"Alright," Addison said, moving the tray closer to herself. "Let's get this done, shall we?"

~*~*~*~

Ty glanced at Sam and chuckled to himself, before sending a powerful illusion of Sam and Faith, raising a baby together.

Sam

Sam left the room, pusing for a moment to think of what life would have been like...

Shaking it off, he reminded himself why they'd gotten the abortion. Life would be better for everyone, not just them...

He sighed and walked down the hall to where Dean was waiting again.

Faith and Ty

Addison started taking the stitches out gently, careful not to get them caught.

"So, has there been any pain?" Addison asked again.

Faith shook her head. "Nothing serious. Just if I'd put too much pressure on my legs."

~*~*~*~

Ty chuckled, and followed him, careful not to get caught.

Dean & Sam

"Everything ok?" Dean looked up as Sam entered.

Sam waited as a couple passed, then nodded as he sat down next to his brother.

"They've just started," he sighed.

"Man," Dean grunted as he turned a page in the magazine he held, "I should have been a gynecologist..."

Faith and Ty

Addison pulled the last stitch and then pressed gently over Faith's skin.

"Good," Faith nodded. "No pain."

"That's excellent news," Addison said. "Though the skin is still raw."

She started organising a bandage to patch over.

~*~*~*~

Ty almost snorted.

Did Dean realise he'd been seeing a lot of old women's pelvic regions, rather than young hot girls?

Sam & Dean

"You do realise you wuld have had to - Godforbid - study for that, right?" Sam teased.

Dean hesitated, closed his mouth, and then his eyes.

"Mmm... sorority girls..."

Sam just rolled his eyes.

Faith and Ty

"Well," Addison said, taking her gloves off. "Free to go."

Faith grinned. "Awesome."

"Just... take it easy," Addison warned again, before leaving so Faith could get changed.

~*~*~*~

Faith opened the door a few minutes later, walking gingerly down the hallway.

Ty grinned, watching.

Sam & Dean

Sam looked up when Dean nudged him in the arm, instantly going to Faith's side.

"Everything cool?" he asked, holding her arm.

Faith and Ty

"Five by five," Faith said, nodding. She leaned into Sam's side.

"But Dr Sam will still need to be around."

~*~*~*~

Ty smirked.

With what he was planning, Dr Sam would get to watch his girl burn.

Sam & Dean

"Dr. Sam isn't going anywhere," Sam insisted, wrapping his arm around her shoulders and keeping her up.

"Let's rock and roll," Dean jingled the car keys, before heading for the door.

Faith and Ty

"Good, I'm fond of Dr Sam."

Faith let Sam help her walk.

~*~*~*~

Ty disappeared down the hallway as they left, smirking to himself.
